Announcement number 26-13051244 Control number 884260100 This job is open to Help The public U.S. Citizens, Nionals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. Duties Help Identifies, selects and issues tools, parts and supplies in accordance with established procedures; recommends possible substitutes and interchangeable items in the event requested item is unavailable. Determines when tools and equipment should be referred for testing, or repair. Ensures th all tools and equipment are properly identified and assigned a designed space in the tool room according to established procedures. Checks incoming shipments of stock by comparing item names and identificion numbers with receiving reports, and by opening, counting, and visually checking contents of containers. Reports overages, shortages, or damaged items. Prepares and maintains individual custody cards used to check tools in and out. Ensures accuracy and th cards are up-to-de with required informion. Maintains stock prescribed levels and reorders to maintain adeque stock of needed merchandise. Recommends substitutes for out of stock items, utilizing calogs and bulletins, etc. May be required to pick up needed parts and supplies. Conducts periodic inventory of supplies, equipment and tools, identifies discrepancies, short and/or damaged items, and advises supervisor so th corrective action may be taken. Accounts for merchandise in stock and/or transferred items, etc. Responsible for issuing all supplies, equipment and tools to shop personnel. Follows up to assure return of items and checks upon return for damage or maintenance needs. May perform minor maintenance such as cleaning stock and parts, applying protective coings, replacing wooden handles on broken tools, etc. Ensures all records are kept pertaining to hazardous merial and hazardous waste handling. Maintains hazardous merial storage in ne and orderly fashion. Also is responsible for maintaining the tool room in clean and orderly manner. Observes fire, sanition, safety and security rules and regulions. Requirements Help Conditions of employment Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verificion check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment. Must meet federal suitability requirements including successful completion of background investigion. Work requires standing, stooping, bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries merials weighing up to 40 pounds. Occasionally lifts items weighing 50 pounds or more with mechanical devices or with assistance from other workers. required to follow prescribed safety procedures and required to wear safety shoes. Qualificions Six months of reled experience in a maintenance shop environment. Knowledge of a wide range of tools, equipment and machinery. Ability and knowledge to identify and select approprie tools, equipment and machinery. Ability to select and set up storage locion, considering such factors as the use, size, weight, shape and nomenclure of items. Ability to set up and maintain records. Ability to make minor repairs to equipment. Ability to communice effectively with others. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Educion This position is not in a positive educion series.
