Field Operations Coordinator - Solar/New Home Construction Livermore, CA 6 months to start, temp to perm The candidate should have their own car for travel. The candidate will be paid for the fuel as per the IRS Mileage rate for 2026 Seeking a Field Construction Associate who will play an important role in our mission to harvest energy from rooftops and deliver ultimate customer satisfaction. This role is critical to alleviating the severe workload on existing Field Construction Managers (FCMs), mitigating operational risk, and ensuring effective on-site coverage in high-growth regions in Northern and Southern California. This person will report to the Senior Regional Construction Manager, Enterprise, and act as a crucial, hands-on member of the team by: Being primarily responsible for field operations and physical presence in the communities. Interfacing between our roofing partners, enterprise customers, homeowners and residents, the electrician network, project coordinators, and various state and local municipal staff. Working within a cross-functional team to ensure the overall success of field installations in our New Homes, Military Housing, and Commercial markets. What will you do? The Field Construction Associate will focus on field execution and support, enabling FCMs to prioritize complex strategic and administrative tasks.
Core responsibilities include:
Providing hands-on field support, including daily builder communication, material support, and quality assurance. Managing inspection follow-up/support and providing homeowner troubleshooting/app guidance. Assisting in tracking job progress, inspecting sites, and reviewing project documentation. Performing other duties as assigned. What do we require from you? 2+ years work experience in the solar or homebuilding industry. Familiarity with new home construction processes is a plus. Strong communication skills across a wide variety of settings and audiences; good listening skills are a must. Adaptable, personable, innovative, with a high tolerance for ambiguity and pressure. Proven experience working with cross-functional teams. High energy/high sense of urgency/fast-paced and able to think on your feet. Self-motivated; has ability to manage workload autonomously. Comfortable working as a team player in a start-up environment where no job is too small. Skill in reading and interpreting construction plans, and making necessary corrections. Proficiency in computer use, and mobile app use Problem-solving skills and quick to learn new systems. Reliable, organized, and capable of working independently. Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time if needed. Physical Requirements Must be able to wear safety equipment (weighing up to 15 lbs) and perform work at heights. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to climb ladders and/or stairs. Specific vision abilities including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus, are required. Must be able to walk, stand, and maintain balance on sloped surfaces such as roofs. Frequent sitting, walking, standing, and occasional climbing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing are required. Frequent use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling the use of tools and equipment is required. Communicating verbally in person and through automated devices such as the telephone are required.
