We serve premier aerospace, space launch, and defense technology clients across the Los Angeles and Long Beach market, delivering civil, structural concrete, tenant improvement, cleanroom, and electrical scopes inside active, high-security production facilities where schedule, safety, and discretion are non-negotiable. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Project Manager based in the Los Angeles / Long Beach area to lead our aerospace and advanced manufacturing construction program. This is a client-facing role at the center of our fastest-growing market. You will manage active projects from preconstruction through closeout, serve as the day-to-day point of contact for sophisticated owner-side facilities and engineering teams, and support estimating and proposal efforts as we expand our footprint across the region.
The right candidate is equally comfortable walking a jobsite inside an operating manufacturing facility, presenting to a client's facilities leadership, and building a hard bid. What you'll do: Drive safety, quality, and compliance on every job Manage multiple concurrent projects spanning site civil, structural concrete, tenant improvements, cleanrooms, and electrical coordination, from award through closeout Serve as the primary client contact for owner facilities, engineering, and construction management teams; build and maintain the relationships that drive repeat, negotiated work Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, procurement, and subcontractor management Support estimating: quantity takeoffs, subcontractor and vendor solicitation, scope review, and bid assembly for both competitive and negotiated pursuits Coordinate self-perform crews (concrete, earthwork, utilities) with subcontracted trades Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and monthly billings with accuracy and discipline Enforce HHCI's safety culture on every site, including work inside occupied and operating facilities Represent HHCI professionally in client meetings, site walks, and industry settings throughout the LA / Long Beach market What You Bring 5+ years of project management experience with a commercial, industrial, or heavy civil general contractor Demonstrated experience delivering work inside active, occupied facilities; manufacturing, aerospace, industrial, or mission-critical environments strongly preferred Working knowledge across multiple scopes: sitework and concrete required; tenant improvement, cleanroom, or MEP coordination experience a significant plus Estimating capability, including takeoffs and bid preparation Strong command of project management fundamentals: scheduling (P6 or MS Project), cost management, contracts, and documentation Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable representing the company directly to clients Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent field experience considered OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain promptly) Based in, or able to work daily in, the Los Angeles / Long Beach area Ability to pass client-required background screening for access to secure facilities Must be able to pass pre-employment physical/drug test Work Environment & Physical Requirements Combination of office and active construction site work Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, heavy equipment, noise, dust, and fumes Required use of PPE on job sites (hard hat, safety vest, hearing protection, etc.). Movement between offices and job sites as needed Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, heavy equipment, noise, dust, and fumes Requires regular use of a computer, which entails looking at a monitor for extended periods; employer provides ergonomic workstations and rest breaks in accordance with California law Frequent use of keyboard, mouse, and telephone Occasional reaching, bending or lifting of small packages or files up to 20-25 lbs Reasonable accommodations will be provided in accordance with applicable law.
