Job Summary The General Superintendent leads field operations across multiple residential homebuilding projects and communities. This role is responsible for driving production schedules, enforcing safety standards, maintaining quality control, and coordinating trade partners from site preparation and foundations through final home turnover. The General Superintendent ensures consistent execution, efficiency, and quality across all builds. Job Responsibilities A. Field Operations & Production Oversight
  • Lead and oversee day-to-day field operations across multiple active homebuilding communities
  • Manage construction activities from site work and foundations through framing, MEPs, finishes, and final inspections
  • Ensure homes are built according to plans, specifications, and company standards
  • Standardize construction practices and workflows across communities to improve efficiency and quality B. Schedule & Production Management
  • Drive production schedules and cycle times to meet monthly and quarterly delivery targets
  • Monitor construction progress and identify bottlenecks impacting start-to-close timelines
  • Implement recovery plans to maintain build pace and minimize delays
  • Coordinate start schedules, releases, and closings with construction and operations teams C. Trade & Vendor Coordination
  • Oversee and coordinate subcontractors and trade partners across all phases of construction
  • Ensure proper sequencing of trades to maintain production flow
  • Resolve field conflicts and performance issues with trade partners
  • Support purchasing and construction leadership in evaluating trade performance D. Safety & Quality Control
  • Enforce safety policies and OSHA-compliant jobsite practices across all communities
  • Lead jobsite safety meetings, inspections, and corrective actions
  • Ensure quality assurance and quality control standards are met at each construction phase
  • Oversee inspections, punch lists, and final walkthroughs to ensure homes meet company standards E. Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and support Area Superintendents, Superintendents, and field staff
  • Promote accountability, consistency, and a culture of safety and quality
  • Provide training and guidance on construction best practices and company procedures Job Requirements
  • 8-15 years of experience in residential homebuilding construction
  • Proven experience managing multiple communities or high-volume production builds
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and sequencing
  • Demonstrated ability to drive schedules, cycle times, and production metrics
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with production or semi-custom homebuilders
  • Familiarity with local building codes, inspections, and jurisdictional requirements
  • OSHA certification or equivalent safety training
