Lead It. Own It. MFS Construction is looking for an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent who takes pride in leading the field, solving problems, and getting the job done right. As Superintendent, you'll take ownership of day-to-day field operations—from mobilization through project completion. You'll lead subcontractors and vendors, manage site logistics and sequencing, keep the project moving, and make sure safety and quality remain a priority. We're looking for a hands-on field leader who can anticipate challenges, make confident decisions, communicate clearly, and work closely with Project Managers and the project team to deliver successful projects. What You'll Do Lead Field Operations Lead daily field operations on active commercial construction projects. Direct and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel. Manage site logistics, manpower, materials, equipment, and construction sequencing. Ensure work is performed according to plans, specifications, and project requirements. Maintain a safe, organized, productive, and professional jobsite. Keep Projects Moving Develop and maintain short-term look-ahead schedules. Monitor daily progress, milestones, and overall project schedule. Identify potential delays, conflicts, and field issues before they impact the project. Take proactive steps to resolve problems and keep work moving forward. Coordinate closely with Project Managers to meet project goals and completion deadlines. Ensure subcontractor activities are properly sequenced and coordinated. Communicate & Stay on Top of the Details Serve as the primary field contact for subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and project stakeholders. Communicate site conditions, progress, schedule concerns, and potential risks to the project team. Lead and participate in project and coordination meetings. Maintain accurate daily reports, field logs, inspection records, and project documentation. Track project progress and communicate field issues promptly. Make Safety a Priority Enforce OSHA requirements and company safety policies. Conduct or participate in safety meetings, inspections, and jobsite walkthroughs. Promote a strong safety culture across employees, subcontractors, and vendors. Identify and address safety hazards promptly. Maintain required safety documentation. Deliver Quality Work Monitor workmanship and ensure construction meets plans, specifications, and quality standards. Coordinate inspections and address deficiencies and corrective work. Work with subcontractors to resolve quality issues efficiently. Manage punch list activities and support timely project closeout. What We're Looking For 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or similar field leadership role in commercial construction. Experience with tenant improvements, renovations, commercial interiors, or ground-up construction . Proven ability to coordinate subcontractors and manage active construction sites. Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and field operations. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to changing field conditions. Valid driver's license. Associate degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred , or equivalent hands-on construction experience. Nice to Have Experience working in occupied or active commercial environments . Healthcare, medical, life sciences, or other highly regulated commercial construction experience. Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction software . OSHA 30 certification. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
