We are seeking a skilled and experienced Superintendent to oversee the daily operations and execution of landscaping projects in our business. As a Superintendent, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating field operations, managing a team of landscape crews, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction. Your expertise in landscaping, leadership, and project management will contribute to the success and growth of our business.Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution:
Collaborate with the project management team to develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resources, and budget requirements. Review project specifications, scope of work, and contractual obligations to ensure understanding and compliance. Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to schedule and mobilize resources for project execution. Monitor and oversee the progress of landscaping projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and project schedules. Conduct regular site inspections to assess work quality, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actionsTeam Management and Leadership :
Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of landscape crews, ensuring optimal performance and productivity. Assign tasks and responsibilities to crew members, providing clear instructions and expectations. Monitor crew performance, provide feedback, and conduct performance evaluations. Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of crew members. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.Resource Allocation and Management:
Coordinate and allocate resources, including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors, based on project requirements. Monitor resource utilization and efficiency, making adjustments as needed to optimize productivity and cost-effectiveness. Maintain accurate records of resource usage, project expenses, and labor hours for reporting and analysis purposes. Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment needed for project execution.Quality Assurance and Safety Compliance:
Ensure that all landscaping activities adhere to quality standards and meet or exceed client expectations. Implement and enforce safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all team members. Conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions to promote safety awareness and compliance. Investigate and report any accidents, incidents, or near misses, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.Client Communication and Relationship Management:
Serve as a point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing project updates, and resolving any issues or concerns. Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure their satisfaction with project progress and deliverables. Collaborate with the sales team and project managers to identify opportunities for additional services or upselling to clients. Conduct final walkthroughs with clients to ensure project completion and obtain feedback.Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare and maintain project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, change orders, and punch lists. Collaborate with the project management team to prepare project closeout documents, including as-built drawings and warranties. Assist in preparing project-related financial reports, such as cost tracking, budget variance analysis, and revenue recognition.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience (5+ years) in landscape construction, installation, or project management, with demonstrated leadership experience. Strong knowledge of landscape construction techniques, materials, and industry best practices. Proficient in reading and interpreting project plans, specifications, and contract documents. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, subcontractors, and team members. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Valid driver's license and ability to operate landscape equipment.COMPANY PERKS
