Electrical Project Manager - Construction Santa Maria, CA Full-TimeOn-Site$130,000 - $160,000 /yr Posted July 28, 2026 Electrical Project Manager Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead and deliver commercial and data center electrical projects from planning through closeout. The successful candidate will oversee project scheduling, budget and cost control, quality, safety, and coordination among engineering, construction, and client teams. This role requires strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, proven project management skills, and experience working in construction and commercial environmentsdata center experience is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities Lead planning, execution, and closeout of electrical construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and progress reports; implement corrective actions when necessary. Coordinate design review, value engineering, and constructability assessments with engineers, estimators, and field teams. Manage subcontractors and vendor relationships, including procurement, contract administration, and performance oversight. Ensure installations comply with project specifications, electrical codes (e.g., NEC), industry best practices, and client requirements. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and enforce safety and quality standards. Prepare and present regular project updates to internal stakeholders and clients; manage change orders and claims. Oversee commissioning, testing, and turnover activities, including punch-list completion and documentation handover. Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental protocols on-site, ensuring OSHA and company safety standards are met. Mentor and lead project team members, fostering collaboration between project engineers, foremen, and site personnel. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum 5+ years experience managing electrical projects in construction; commercial and data center project experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of electrical systems, distribution, power quality, critical infrastructure and applicable codes (NEC, NFPA as relevant). Proven experience with project management tools and software (MS Project, Primavera, Procore or similar) and proficiency with MS Office suite. Strong financial acumen with experience managing project budgets, cost forecasting, and change order administration. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills; ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams. Relevant certifications preferred: PMP, PE (Electrical), NICET, or OSHA 30-hour. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, single line diagrams, and contract documents. Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to job sites as required.
