Must be available Monday through Friday during all program hours, generally 1:00PM-530PM The locations are listed below: Temecula Middle School - 42075 Meadows Pkwy, Temecula, CA 92592 James L. Day Middle School - 40775 Camino Campos Verde, Temecula, CA 92591JOB SUMMARY:
Directs and provides excellent leadership for overall daily operations of the designated school site with the primary concern for safety and program delivery, direction and development of staff, site upkeep, maintaining and building collaborative relationships, and having a positive impact.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Ensures all programs, services and activities follow the Outcome-Driven Club Experience and overall mission and strategic plan of the Boys & Girls Club of Southwest County (BGCSWC). Implements processes for continuous quality improvements within the school site with support from the ELOP Coordinator. Oversees and monitors daily operations to ensure that staff implements positive and impactful programming as indicated by the daily schedule and to ensure that members are safe and engaged. Posts the schedule in advance, in visible locations. Supervises all Youth Development Professionals to make certain that all activities, programming, and overall site environment are functioning smoothly while participants are in attendance. Exercises authority in problems relating to members; implements guidance and behavior plans as necessary. Ensures that all staff are actively supervising and engaging with members. Ensures that program requirements for the Extended Learning Opportunities Program are met. Communicates frequently and professionally with all parents and visitors to the site. Phone calls and emails from parents are answered within 24 hours. Performs other related assignments delegated by the ELOP Coordinator, Chief Operations Officer or Chief Executive Officer. Safety and Facility Management Oversees the day-to-day operation of assigned rooms at the school site. Responsible for equipment at the site, overall cleanliness, and attractiveness. Report facility issues to the authorized school personnel and ELOP Coordinator. Individually and through other staff members, preserves the health and safety of all individuals associated with the site, especially the participants at the school site. Ensures that all staff stays current in First Aid and CPR certification. Required to complete the Child Safety trainings on Spillett Leadership University before working with youth. Finance, Budget and Reporting Responsible for approving and ensuring all payroll is inputted correctly and consistently. Sends purchase requests for supplies and equipment to the ELOP Coordinator for approval and purchase. Ensures administrative and operational systems are maintained to include data membership management. Collaborative Relationships and Marketing Develops strong professional relationships with school site staff and parents by promoting and stimulating collaborative relationships and interests in site activities. Increases visibility of site programs via posting daily schedule, announcements of upcoming events and the dissemination of timely flyers for the development of advertising and promotion. Ensures posted information is up-to-date, current and consistent with organizational standards. Provides the updated material for the BGCSWC web site, email blasts and social media monthly. Represents the organization and interprets it objectives, standards and programs. Responsible for portraying and maintaining a positive disposition and professional work environment. Human Resources Trains, directs, motivates, evaluates and supervises site staff. Ensures that the site is properly staffed to meet a 20 youth to 1 staff ratio. Schedules and administers bi-monthly staff meetings. Makes recommendations to the Chief Operations Officer for final staffing decisions. Stays in compliance with the employee handbook to include taking appropriate disciplinary action with staff as needed. Creates, posts, and disseminates staff schedule in a timely manner. Manages staff to ensure that actual staff hours match projected. Supervises all volunteers to ensure a positive volunteer experience. Professional Development Required to complete all SLU Courses of the Training Tracks program within 30 days of start date. Required to complete all Program Projects for the Training Tracks Program within 60 days of start date. Required to attend all program training provided by BGCSWC. Complete all mandatory Spillett University courses annually. Complete other Spillett University courses as assigned.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Understands and implements the mission and core values of the Boys & Girls Club of Southwest County. Purchase supplies and equipment as necessary. Assist with organizational special events as assigned. Assume other duties as assigned. Must be available Monday through Friday during regular program hours. Must be available to assist at other locations as needed. May be transferred to other locations permanently as needed. Regular and predictable attendance is expected. CPR & First Aid certified within 60 days of hire.SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience. A minimum of one year work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experience. Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision, facilities management, and the recruitment and retention of key personnel. Establish positive and productive working relationships. Able to generate trust. Ability and willingness to give and receive honest, balanced feedback. Demonstrates competence and character that inspires trust. Good judgment, professionalism, strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative style, high integrity, tact, a positive attitude. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to train, supervise and motivate staff. Ability to deal effectively with member's discipline problems. Working knowledge of budget preparation, control and management. Demonstrated ability in working with young people and parents. Possesses current California driver's license and current automobile insurance. Current CPR/First Aid required.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
