Assistant Electrical Superintendent Job Description This role supports a 68 week industrial project at a large distribution facility, focused on the installation and integration of robotic order-picking systems. You will oversee and coordinate electrical subcontractors responsible for power distribution, electrical infrastructure, and cabling from electrical panels to production and automation areas. Acting as the on-site representative, you will ensure the project remains on schedule, within scope, and compliant with safety requirements. This is a coordination-focused position, emphasizing field leadership and project oversight rather than hands-on electrical installation. Responsibilities Oversee and coordinate electrical subcontractors performing installation work on power distribution, electrical infrastructure, and cabling. Manage daily field operations, including workforce coordination, scheduling, and material deliveries to support uninterrupted project progress. Act as the primary on-site point of contact for field questions, technical clarifications, and issue resolution. Collaborate closely with project management, subcontractors, and facility personnel to align work activities and maintain project momentum. Conduct daily site walks to monitor productivity, workmanship quality, and adherence to safety standards. Complete accurate and timely daily reports and project documentation using Procore or similar project management software. Ensure Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) are completed, updated, and maintained for all relevant tasks. Identify, communicate, and address safety concerns promptly to minimize risk and maintain a safe work site. Track project progress against the plan and communicate regular updates to the Project Manager, who will periodically visit the site. Support overall project execution by proactively coordinating schedules, resolving field conflicts, and maintaining clear communication among stakeholders. Essential Skills Strong experience in electrical construction, with experience in commercial or industrial environments. Previous experience serving as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, foreperson, or lead overseeing electrical projects. Proven ability to coordinate subcontractors, construction schedules, and material logistics in a fast-paced setting. Experience working on industrial, manufacturing, distribution, or automation projects. Working knowledge of Procore or similar construction and project management software. Demonstrated capability to manage field operations, monitor safety, and maintain documentation with attention to detail. Effective communication skills to serve as the primary on-site point of contact for project stakeholders. Additional Skills & Qualifications Electrical construction experience strongly preferred, particularly in commercial or industrial facilities. Experience supporting projects involving automated or robotic systems within distribution or manufacturing environments. Familiarity with safety processes such as Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and hazard identification on active job sites. Ability to work independently on-site while maintaining alignment with remote project management. Strong organizational skills to handle daily reporting, scheduling, and material coordination. Comfort working in a fast-paced industrial setting with multiple subcontractors and stakeholders. Why Work Here? Join a project that leverages cutting-edge automation and robotic technologies within a modern industrial facility, offering exposure to innovative systems and complex electrical infrastructure. You will work in a collaborative environment that values safety, clear communication, and professional accountability, with the opportunity to take ownership of on-site coordination and decision-making. The short-term project structure provides a focused, predictable schedule and the chance to make a measurable impact in a defined timeframe. Work Environment The role is based in a large distribution facility undergoing installation of automated robotic order-picking systems, creating a dynamic and fast-paced industrial work environment. You will spend most of your time in the field, coordinating activities among subcontractors and facility personnel while maintaining strong safety oversight. The project is expected to run approximately 68 weeks, with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The environment involves active construction areas, industrial equipment, and ongoing facility operations, requiring situational awareness, adherence to safety protocols, and appropriate job-site attire suitable for an industrial setting.
