Job Description
STRUCTURES FOREMAN / ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT
Heavy Highway & Bridge Construction Build Structures. Lead People. Take the Next Step. Jalisco International, Inc. is seeking an experienced heavy-civil Structures Foreman who is ready to take the next step into project-level field leadership. This is not an entry-level foreman role. We are looking for a proven leader with strong bridge and structural concrete experience who can run work, lead crews, plan ahead, solve problems in the field, and grow into a Heavy Highway Project Superintendent. The right candidate may already be the person everyone relies on in the field: the foreman who understands the plans, knows how the structure needs to come together, keeps production moving, develops the crew, and sees problems before they become delays. If you are ready for greater responsibility and a clear path forward, we want to talk to you. About Jalisco International Jalisco International, Inc. is a Colorado heavy highway general contractor with a history dating back to 1985. We build transportation infrastructure throughout Colorado, including bridges, roadway improvements, pedestrian structures, concrete structures, and other complex heavy-civil projects. We value experienced field leaders who take ownership of their work, understand production, and know how to build safely and correctly. What You Will Do Lead structural concrete crews performing bridge, retaining wall, box culvert, pedestrian structure, and other heavy-highway structural work. Plan and direct forming, reinforcing steel, embeds, concrete placement, finishing, stripping, curing, and related structural activities. Read and interpret plans, specifications, details, grades, elevations, and project requirements and translate them into daily field operations. Plan work ahead, including manpower, equipment, materials, form systems, concrete placements, access, sequencing, and upcoming constraints. Coordinate daily operations with the Project Superintendent, Project Manager, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other crews. Take ownership of production, quality, safety, and schedule performance for assigned work. Identify constructability issues, conflicts, material needs, and potential delays early and communicate solutions before they impact production. Track manpower, quantities, materials, equipment utilization, production, delays, and daily field activities. Lead toolbox talks and actively enforce company, OSHA, owner, and project-specific safety requirements. Train, mentor, and develop craft employees and emerging field leaders. Maintain a clean, organized, professional jobsite and set the standard for the crew. Take on increasing responsibility for multiple crews, broader field coordination, and project operations as demonstrated ability grows. Who We Are Looking For 5+ years of heavy-civil construction experience with substantial structural concrete experience preferred. 3+ years of demonstrated foreman, lead-person, or equivalent crew-leadership experience preferred. Strong experience with bridges and/or major highway construction. Thorough working knowledge of structural concrete construction, including forming/form systems, concrete placement, embeds, layout, grades, and elevations. Ability to independently read and understand construction plans, specifications, structural details, and project requirements. Proven ability to plan work, organize crews, maintain production, and meet schedule commitments. Strong field problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate upcoming needs and constraints. Ability to communicate effectively with crews, project management, inspectors, engineers, subcontractors, and owners' representatives. Strong commitment to safety, quality, accountability, and professional field leadership. Valid driver's license and ability to work on projects throughout Colorado as required. Ready for Superintendent Responsibility? Previous Superintendent title is not required. We are specifically interested in experienced Structures Foremen who have demonstrated the ability, judgment, leadership, and ambition to advance into project-level field management. This position is designed for a high-level field leader who can immediately take ownership of structural and heavy civil work while developing toward independently managing broader heavy-highway field operations as a Project Superintendent. Skills you Need Your crews know the plan and have what they need before work begins. Structural work is built safely, correctly, and efficiently. You understand production and actively drive the schedule. You communicate problems early and bring solutions with you. You hold yourself and your crew accountable for quality and performance. You are capable of looking beyond today and thinking about the entire project. You are ready to grow from running a crew to helping run the job. Compensation & Benefits Competitive compensation will be based on demonstrated heavy-highway structures experience, leadership ability, and readiness for expanded superintendent-level responsibilities.CO Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Vacation Pay Company Contribution 401K / Profit Sharing Plan Company Cell Phone Pay Depending on Qualifications and Experience-Jalisco offer very competitive wages and industry leading benefits.
