Our portfolio spans one- to three-story buildings and a wide range of structural systems. We're a company that takes care of our people — in the field and in the office. The Role We're looking for a sharp, detail-driven Project Manager / Estimator to own commercial construction projects from initial takeoff through final closeout.
This is a dual-hat role:
you'll build winning estimates during the pursuit phase, then shepherd those same projects through execution — budget, schedule, subcontractors, and client communication. You'll work directly with our Preconstruction Manager and Project Managers, and partner closely with our field Superintendents to deliver projects on time and on budget. What You'll Do Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and develop competitive hard-bid and negotiated estimates for commercial projects Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor pricing; build and maintain strong trade-partner relationships Prepare bid proposals, budgets, and value-engineering options for clients, architects, and owners Manage assigned projects from contract award through closeout — schedule, budget, submittals, RFIs, and change orders Buy out projects, draft and negotiate subcontracts and purchase orders, and manage subcontractor billings Maintain project budgets and cost reports; forecast costs to complete and flag variances early Partner with Superintendents on constructability reviews, logistics, and day-to-day field coordination Lead project meetings and maintain clear, timely communication with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors Review plans, specifications, and shop drawings for accuracy, coordination issues, and scope gaps Support safety, quality, and closeout documentation alongside the project team What We're Looking For 3-5 years of experience in commercial construction as a Project Manager, Estimator, Assistant PM, or combined PM/Estimator role Demonstrated ability to produce accurate takeoffs and complete, well-organized estimates Working knowledge of ground-up commercial construction — wood frame, steel, masonry, and/or tilt-wall Strong command of construction documents, specifications, and the full CSI scope breakdown Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software (Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar) Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project; experience with Procore, Sage, or comparable PM/accounting platforms Sharp organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple bids and active projects simultaneously Excellent written and verbal communication skills Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred — equivalent field experience considered Valid driver's license Benefits Health insurance (employee + family) Dental insurance Vision insurance Life insurance Paid time off Professional development assistance Eligible for incentive/bonus plan To learn more about Crosslands Construction Company — our values, culture, and project portfolio — visit www.crosslands.usPay:
