Project Manager - Federal Construction | NIST Campus Boulder, CO $100,000-$115,000+ DOE | Flexible for the Right Candidate Direct Hire | Full-Time | U.S. Citizenship Required Build Your Career on High-Profile Federal Construction Projects We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team supporting active construction projects at the NIST campus in Boulder, Colorado . This is an opportunity to work on high-profile federal construction projects in a technically complex environment, with a strong focus on MEP and mechanical infrastructure . Projects include chillers, large-diameter piping, water rerouting, mechanical controls, system decoupling, and other critical building and infrastructure systems. You'll work directly with the Program Manager and collaborate with Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, customers, and government representatives while taking ownership of projects from preconstruction through final completion . Multiple projects are active on the campus at the same time. Depending on experience, one Project Manager may take ownership of the largest project while another manages 4-6 smaller projects simultaneously . What You'll Do Manage commercial and federal construction projects from proposal/preconstruction through closeout . Own project schedules, budgets, procurement, milestones, deliverables, and overall execution. Coordinate closely with the Program Manager, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, customers, and government representatives. Manage subcontractor and vendor performance, scheduling, coordination, and project requirements. Coordinate MEP and mechanical construction scopes , including chillers, piping, controls, water systems, and infrastructure modifications. Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, contract modifications, reports, correspondence, and project records. Monitor project costs, progress, procurement, invoicing, and overall financial performance. Prepare and submit required documentation to government stakeholders. Review schedules, subcontractor reports, customer feedback, and project performance. Help coordinate workforce, subcontractors, and site supervision to keep projects on schedule and within budget. Support estimating, proposal development, procurement, and cost-control activities. Ensure work is performed in accordance with contract requirements and applicable federal contracting requirements, including the FAR . Maintain strong customer and subcontractor relationships while resolving issues quickly and professionally. Project Scope Projects at the NIST campus include: Mechanical and MEP construction Chiller systems Large-diameter piping Water rerouting and modifications Mechanical controls System decoupling Building infrastructure upgrades Self-performed construction Subcontracted construction Multiple projects running concurrently What We're Looking For 5+ years of construction experience , with strong Project Management, Project Engineer, or Construction Administration experience. Experience managing commercial, institutional, industrial, or federal construction projects. Strong understanding of scheduling, procurement, estimating, budgeting, and cost control . Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, field teams, customers, and other project stakeholders. Strong construction documentation and contract administration skills. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with minimal oversight. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and related project documentation tools. Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. U.S. Citizenship required for site access.
