Junior Electrical Construction Estimator Position Summery :

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Junior Electrical Construction Estimator with some experience using Accubid. The primary responsibility of this role is assisting our estimator with take-offs, submittals and assisting with estimating the costs of electrical construction projects. You will also be assisting with managing larger projects, managing smallere projects and writing up more basic service quotes. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with experience in electrical engineering or construction management to gain valuable industry experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Documentation Analysis :

Review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand the scope of work and project requirements.

Quantity Takeoffs :

Perform quantity takeoffs for electrical materials, labor, and equipment based on project plans and specifications.

Cost Estimation :

Utilize estimating software and spreadsheets to assist the lead estimator with calculating the cost of materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services for electrical construction projects. Also selfperform these tasks for smaller projects.

Vendor and Subcontractor Communication :

Obtain quotes and pricing from vendors and subcontractors for materials and services required for the project.

Cost Analysis :

Help analyze costs to identify areas for cost savings and value engineering opportunities.

Bid Preparation :

Assist with the preparation of bids and proposals for electrical construction projects.

Project Management :

Assist the estimator with responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing all aspects of a project to ensure it is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

• Assist/Responsible for coordinating with stakeholders, managing resources, and mitigating risks to drive project success. Prepare reports as needed for project stakeholders

Collaboration :

Work closely with project managers, engineers, estimator, and other team members to ensure accurate and timely project estimates.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of project estimates, bids, and related documentation in collaboration with the estimator and project manager.

Submittals :

As projects are awarded, assist the estimator and project manager with completing and sending submittals or perfrom these tasks for project you are estimating and/or project managing yourself.

Qualifications:

• Experience in estimating
• Experience in Electrical Project Management
• Experience using Bluebeam
• Electrical JW License preferred
• A minimum of 3 years of electrical construction experience with some Accubid experience.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Proficiency or some experience in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Eagerness to learn and develop new skills in the field of electrical construction estimating.
• Reliable transportation for traveling to bid walks.
