Job Description

General Superintendent - Demolition & Structural Carpentry Lead Complex Projects. Build Great Teams. An established Connecticut contractor specializing in demolition, structural modifications, selective demolition, and commercial carpentry is seeking an experienced General Superintendent to oversee field operations across multiple projects. This is an opportunity to join a company with a strong reputation for tackling technically challenging projects that require careful planning, creative problem-solving, and exceptional field leadership. If you enjoy managing multiple Superintendents, coordinating complex work, and building strong relationships with clients and field teams, this could be an outstanding next step. What You'll Be Doing Provide overall field leadership for multiple demolition and structural carpentry projects throughout Connecticut. Mentor and support Superintendents while ensuring projects remain on schedule, on budget, and safely executed. Coordinate manpower, equipment, subcontractors, and self-perform crews across several active jobs. Partner with Project Managers to develop construction strategies and sequencing plans. Lead project planning meetings and proactively resolve field challenges. Maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors. Ensure quality control, production goals, and company safety standards are consistently achieved. Travel between active projects to support field teams and maintain operational excellence. Types of Projects Selective demolition Interior demolition Structural demolition Structural carpentry and framing Building modifications Occupied renovation projects Commercial interiors Healthcare, education, industrial, and institutional facilities Complex renovations requiring phased construction and detailed coordination What We're Looking For 10+ years of construction field leadership experience. Previous experience as a Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, or General Superintendent. Strong background in demolition, structural carpentry, commercial renovations, or self-perform construction. Experience managing multiple active projects and supervising field leadership teams. Excellent planning, scheduling, and organizational skills. Ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams. OSHA certification preferred. Why This Opportunity?
