Permanent opportunity Position Summary and Special Duties As a Toolmaker / Moldmaker, you will play a critical role in building, repairing, and maintaining complex plastic injection molds. This hands-on position requires strong mechanical aptitude, precision machining experience, and a deep understanding of mold components and tooling processes. Your day-to-day duties will include, but may not be limited to: Disassemble, debug, repair, and reassemble plastic injection molds using industry best practices Troubleshoot issues with mold performance, mechanisms, tooling fit, and part quality Operate manual tool room machinery including surface grinders and Bridgeport milling machines Inspect mold components using dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, gauge blocks, and shadowgraphs Perform surface grinding, fitting, polishing, and bench work to exacting tolerances Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and detailed work orders Work to extremely tight tolerances (±0.0002") and understand tolerance stacking principles Maintain organized, clean work area and ensure safe operation of all tools and equipment Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure molds are built and repaired to exact specifications Provide input on tooling improvements, preventative maintenance, and mold performance enhancements Knowledge or exposure to CNC Milling and EDM is a plus Job Specifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in Moldmaking or Toolmaking (injection molding environment strongly preferred) Strong understanding of mold components, mold construction, and injection molding processes Ability to operate manual tool room machines (surface grinder, Bridgeport, etc.) High proficiency with manual inspection tools and precision measurement Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to diagnose and correct mold issues Ability to read complex blueprints and engineering drawings Knowledge of CNC milling or EDM processes is beneficial Must be able to work independently with accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail Opportunity This is a high-impact role for a skilled Toolmaker seeking long-term stability with a reputable manufacturing organization.
