With decades of experience delivering highway, bridge, and concrete construction across the state, we have the reputation, relationships, and project pipeline to keep our teams engaged and our people growing. We're a tight-knit operation where project managers have real ownership over their work — and real support from leadership. The Role We're looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager to own CTDOT transportation and concrete construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. You'll lead scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, and safe delivery of work that meets CTDOT specifications and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Manage CTDOT highway and bridge construction projects from preconstruction through closeout (scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety). Develop and maintain project schedules, work plans, staffing plans, procurement logs, and cost forecasts. Lead subcontractor and supplier procurement, negotiation, onboarding, and performance management. Ensure compliance with CTDOT requirements, contract documents, AASHTO/ASTM standards, and project-specific special provisions.
Coordinate concrete operations:
mix designs, placements, curing, testing/inspection coordination, and corrective action as needed.
Oversee project documentation:
daily reports, RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and as-builts. Interface with CTDOT representatives, inspectors, designers, and stakeholders; lead weekly progress meetings and reporting. Manage change orders and claims mitigation: pricing, schedule impacts, and supporting documentation. Drive a strong safety culture and ensure site compliance with company and regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications B.S. in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or closely related field. 5+ years of project management experience in heavy civil construction with demonstrated CTDOT project experience. Strong background in concrete construction (structures, flatwork, paving, bridge/roadway elements) including QA/QC coordination. Working knowledge of CTDOT Standard Specifications, project documentation expectations, and DOT inspection processes. Proficiency with MS Office and construction scheduling/cost tracking software. Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites throughout Connecticut. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing bridge, roadway, drainage, or transportation infrastructure projects under
CTDOT. OSHA
30-Hour certification (or ability to obtain quickly). Familiarity with CPM scheduling, earned value/cost-to-complete forecasting, and change order management. Concrete-related certifications (ACI, NETTCP, or similar). Experience mentoring field staff and developing assistant project managers or engineers. Competitive salary (commensurate with experience) and performance-based bonus potential. How to Apply Submit your resume via Indeed. Feel free to note your preferred Connecticut work region (e.g., Hartford, New Haven, New London, Fairfield County) and your earliest available start date — this helps us match you to active projects quickly.
