Job Description
Superintendent - SeaviewPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Superintendent for our project to lead on-site construction activities for high-rise residential buildings. The Superintendent will be responsible for day-to-day site leadership, coordination of trades and subcontractors, ensuring quality and safety standards, and delivering the project on schedule and within budget. The ideal candidate has proven experience on site work and hi-rise construction and is comfortable working on multifamily, luxury, and condominium projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day on-site leadership and supervision of all construction activities for the Seaview project.
Manage and coordinate subcontractors, trades, and site crews to ensure work is completed on schedule and to specified quality standards.
Oversee site work including temporary works, utilities, earthworks, and site logistics to maintain an efficient and safe work environment.
Plan, schedule and sequence high-rise construction activities (concrete pours, formwork, shoring, hoisting and elevator coordination) to meet program milestones.
Enforce health, safety and environmental policies and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety programs.
Conduct regular site inspections, monitor workmanship, and implement quality control procedures; identify and resolve defects or non-conformances promptly.
Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, RFIs, submittals and as-built records; communicate status to project management and stakeholders.
Coordinate inspections and approvals with authorities having jurisdiction, third-party consultants and client representatives.
Manage materials, equipment and site access to minimize delays and control project costs.
Act as the primary on-site client liaison, managing expectations, addressing concerns and ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.
QualificationsMinimum 5 years of superintendent experience on commercial or residential construction sites, with demonstrated leadership on hi-rise projects.
Strong experience with site work (temporary works, utilities, grading, and site logistics) and managing on-site crews.
Proven track record in high-rise construction activities including concrete, formwork, shoring, and hoisting coordination.
Knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and regulatory compliance for residential and condominium projects.
Experience with multifamily, luxury or residential condominium projects is highly desirable.
Excellent communication, leadership and conflict-resolution skills; ability to manage multiple trades and stakeholders effectively.
Proficient with construction management tools and scheduling software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, MS Project or similar).Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, and supervisor safety training preferred; hoist/elevating equipment certifications a plus.
Post-secondary diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field, or equivalent trade experience and apprenticeship.
Valid drivers license and willingness to work on-site full time in the Seaview area; ability to work extended hours as required by project schedule.
