Job Description

Construction Manager Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Manager to oversee landscape construction projects from start to finish. The Construction Manager will be responsible for coordinating crews, materials, equipment, subcontractors, schedules, and daily field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and according to company quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong leadership and organizational skills, understands landscape construction, and can effectively communicate with crews, clients, vendors, and management.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee daily operations of landscape construction projects.
  • Coordinate and supervise Crew Leaders, Crew Members, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Review project plans, layouts, specifications, and schedules.
  • Coordinate materials, equipment, deliveries, and manpower for each project.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure work is completed according to schedule.
  • Conduct job-site visits and inspect work for quality and accuracy.
  • Ensure crews follow company safety policies and proper construction procedures.
  • Identify and resolve job-site issues and construction challenges.
  • Communicate project updates, changes, delays, and concerns to management.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Track labor, materials, equipment, and project productivity.
  • Help control project costs and minimize material and labor waste.
  • Ensure job sites are clean, organized, and properly maintained.
  • Coordinate multiple projects and crews at different locations.
  • Assist with scheduling and planning upcoming projects.
  • Ensure projects are completed according to approved plans and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and records.
  • Support the development and training of Crew Leaders and field employees.
  • Perform other duties related to landscape construction operations as needed.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in landscape construction, construction management, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of landscape construction methods and practices.
  • Previous experience supervising crews and managing field operations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and project specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work outdoors and visit multiple job sites.
  • Reliable, professional, and dependable.
  • Valid driver's license required or preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Preferred Experience:
  • Landscape construction: 3+ years
  • Construction management: 2+ years
  • Crew supervision: 2+ years
  • Experience with hardscape, irrigation, grading, planting, and landscape installation
Schedule:
  • 8-hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed
