A Construction Project Manager supervises construction projects from beginning to end, ensuring that projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints. Controls the time, cost and quality of construction projects, from residential, commercial and industrial buildings to roads, bridges and schools. Job Duties:
Manage end-to-end delivery of high-volume multi-million-dollar retail construction projects, including new builds, renovations, and rollouts across the United States, ensuring on-time and on-budget completion. Collaborate with clients, designers, and internal stakeholders during the preconstruction phase to address constructability, value engineering, and schedule optimization. Oversee all phases of project execution, coordinating with field teams, trades, and consultants to maintain quality, safety, and compliance with brand standards. Implement structured risk management practices and evaluate solutions to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Primary liaison between internal teams, clients, and subcontractors, and facilitate stakeholder engagement to ensure communication and alignment in all project phases. Lead procurement and contract management activities to negotiate and award cost-effective contracts to subcontractors and vendors, and ensure clear scope of work, compliance and project requirements. Evaluate and update project schedules to accommodate site conditions, permit timelines, and client priorities. Monitor project financials, track cost variances, and implement budget controls to ensure profitability and timely reporting. Conduct regular site visits to assess construction progress, address field issues, and conformance with approved drawings and specifications. Oversee and support CAD coordination, including review of layout plans, drawing revisions, and scope changes to assist site teams. Conduct post-project evaluations to assess process improvements to streamline workflows, increase efficiency, and enhance overall project delivery. Manage team of APMs and CAD Technicians, providing guidance on task prioritization, technical review, and quality assurance. Oversee annual budget of $500,000 to $5,000,000 for project-based costs.
Requirements:
Must have a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering or related technical field, and at least 2 years of experience as a Project Manager in retail construction. (In lieu of a Bachelors degree will accept 4 years of experience as a construction project manager 2 of which must be in retail construction.) Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience to meet requirements. Must be willing to travel 30% domestically to client construction sites and 5% internationally for company meetings. All stated experience must include at least 2 years of experience in each of the following: Construction budgeting; Construction progress oversight; Time management and project scheduling; Negotiating project costs; Business communications and relationship building; Managing retail construction; Managing construction projects involving at least one million dollars; Utilizing AutoCAD; Utilizing MS Office and MS Project; and Utilizing Procore.
Travel:
Must be willing to travel 30% domestically to client construction sites and 5% internationally for company meetings.
