Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Superintendent to lead field operations on fast-paced retail upfits, multi-family renovation/cap-ex projects, and complex historic adaptive reuse developments. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic environments, has a strong background in commercial interiors and multi-family construction, and possesses the leadership skills to manage large subcontractor teams while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and schedule. Key Responsibilities
  • Full responsibility for day-to-day field operations from mobilization through owner turnover
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce the project schedule (3-week look-ahead and master CPM coordination)
  • Coordinate and direct all subcontractors and self-perform crews
  • Conduct daily site meetings, weekly subcontractor coordination meetings, and regular owner/architect progress updates
  • Enforce corporate and site-specific safety programs (OSHA 30 required; experience implementing rigorous safety cultures)
  • Manage quality control and punch-list completion; implement and follow QA/QC checklists tailored to retail, multi-family, and historic projects
  • Oversee material delivery logistics in tight urban environments and occupied multi-family settings
  • Proactively resolve field issues, RFIs, and change conditions in the field
  • Maintain daily logs, photos, safety documentation, and as-built conditions using Procore (or similar software)
  • Manage client and tenant relations, especially during phased/multi-tenant retail rollouts and occupied multi-family renovations Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum 3+ years of field supervision experience as a Superintendent with a commercial GC
  • Proven track record running retail upfits (national brands a plus), multi-family renovations/capex, and/or historic adaptive reuse projects
  • Strong finishes background (millwork coordination, high-end retail fixtures, multi-family unit turnover experience)
  • Experience working in occupied buildings and phased renovations
  • Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and Excel
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification (current)
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and historic preservation drawings
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; able to manage 20-50+ craft workers and multiple subs simultaneously
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks (required for federal/state tax-credit projects)
  • Experience with national retail clients
