About Us DC Construction Associates is a South Florida-based General Contractor supporting a wide range of commercial projects across South Florida. What We're Looking For We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and detail-oriented while supporting the Project Manager and field Superintendent. Candidates should have experience within the commercial construction industry and a working understanding of construction documents, project coordination, and the overall construction process. Key Responsibilities Preconstruction, Planning & Scheduling Assist with preconstruction planning, project setup, and scheduling Assist in the bidding process, including subcontractor outreach, bid coordination, and scope review Support permitting activities and coordinate with local building departments and other authorities as required Maintain current project plans, specifications, and related documentation Assist with procurement and tracking of long-lead materials and equipment Project Management & Coordination Support the Project Manager throughout all phases of construction Provide project support to field Superintendents as required Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, consultants, architects, and other project stakeholders Review, process, and track shop drawings and submittals Assist with identifying and documenting design deficiencies, conflicts, and constructability concerns Maintain documentation of field modifications and project changes Prepare and distribute weekly project meeting minutes and track follow-up items Assist with RFIs and other project correspondence Maintain accurate and organized project documentation and document control Cost Control & Project Tracking Assist with project cost control, budget tracking, and financial documentation Track project commitments, change orders, and other project costs Maintain job tracking documentation and project logs Assist with subcontractor invoices, pay applications, and owner billing documentation as needed Support the Project Manager with change order documentation and pricing Quality, Safety & Closeout Assist with project quality control and ensure work is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, and company standards Support company and jobsite safety requirements Assist with inspections, permitting requirements, and coordination with building departments Track punch list items and closeout requirements Coordinate project closeout documentation, warranties, as-builts, manuals, and turnover documents Assist with final project completion and closeout activities Administrative Support Maintain organized electronic and physical project files Assist with plans, specifications, permits, contracts, and other project documentation Prepare reports, logs, meeting documentation, and project correspondence Ad hoc administrative support as needed to support project team and office. Qualifications Commercial construction experience preferred Previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or similar construction role preferred Working knowledge of commercial construction processes, plans, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and project documentation Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management programs Ability to work collaboratively with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and clients This is a full-time, in-person position based out of our Delray Beach office. Candidates must be local to the area and able to regularly report to our Delray Beach office. Visits to active jobsites throughout South Florida will be required.
