ECSC, LLC
is seeking an experienced Utility Superintendent to oversee underground utility operations throughout the Florida Panhandle and surrounding areas. This position is responsible for managing utility crews and foremen performing water, sewer, storm drainage, force main, and related civil infrastructure work. The Utility Superintendent will ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and schedules. This role reports directly to the General Superintendent and plays a critical role in field production, quality control, and workforce leadership. We are looking for someone who can lead crews, solve problems in the field, coordinate with project managers and subcontractors, and maintain a strong safety culture. Key Responsibilities Provide daily oversight of utility crews, foremen, operators, and labor personnel Manage installation of: Water main Sewer systems Storm drainage systems Lift stations Force mains Underground infrastructure improvements Review project plans, specifications, and utility profiles prior to work activities Ensure all work is installed according to contract documents, project specifications, and quality standards Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to maintain production goals Conduct daily jobsite inspections to monitor progress, workmanship, and safety compliance Work closely with Project Managers and General Superintendent regarding scheduling, production goals, and project challenges Identify and resolve field issues involving utilities conflicts, grades, elevations, existing infrastructure, and unforeseen conditions Ensure projects remain compliant with OSHA safety standards and company safety policies Maintain accurate daily reports regarding production, manpower, delays, and equipment usage Participate in project planning meetings and scheduling discussions Train and mentor foremen and field personnel Maintain positive working relationships with owners, inspectors, subcontractors, and engineers Qualifications 5+ years of experience supervising underground utility construction projects Strong knowledge of water, sewer, storm drainage, and site utility installation Ability to read and interpret construction plans, profiles, specifications, and grade stakes Strong understanding of trench safety, excavation safety, and OSHA requirements Experience managing multiple crews and maintaining project schedules Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to solve problems quickly in the field Valid driver's license required DOT, military/federal project experience is a plus Preferred Experience Utility work for municipalities, private developers, DOT projects, or federal installations Knowledge of GPS equipment, grading, and civil site development operations Experience working around existing utilities and coordinating utility relocations Experience with heavy equipment operations is a plus Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to walk uneven terrain and active construction sites Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs Ability to work extended hours when project schedules require Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Company vehicle or vehicle allowance (if applicable) Health benefits Paid time off Holiday pay Opportunities for advancement About
