Active Project Oversight Starting Pay:
$23.00/hour with performance-based compensation growth Fidelity Custom Services is a growing residential construction company in Port St. Lucie seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to work directly with ownership and take responsibility for managing our residential construction projects and day-to-day project operations. This is not an entry-level position and is not a training position for someone looking to become a Project Manager. We are looking for someone who already understands construction, project sequencing, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, purchasing, documentation, inspections, budgets, and the day-to-day responsibilities required to move multiple construction projects forward. The Opportunity The position starts at $23.00 per hour while you learn our specific company systems, active projects, subcontractors, vendors, and operating standards. We expect an experienced Project Manager to quickly demonstrate the ability to independently own their responsibilities. As you demonstrate consistent ownership, sound decision-making, accountability, and the ability to manage projects with limited direction from ownership, compensation will increase with the level of responsibility you successfully take over. Our long-term goal is to have a Project Manager capable of taking substantial responsibility for the company's construction operations, with compensation potential up to $100,000 annually as the role, performance, and company continue to grow. We are looking for someone interested in building a long-term career with the company. Responsibilities You will work directly with company ownership and be responsible for helping drive projects from preconstruction through completion, including: Managing multiple residential construction projects and maintaining accurate project schedules Coordinating subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, inspections, and field activities Understanding construction sequencing and ensuring upcoming work is ready before crews arrive Reviewing plans, scopes, bids, estimates, purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders Managing procurement and tracking materials, deliveries, lead times, and backorders Monitoring project costs and identifying budget or scope issues Maintaining accurate project information and documentation in Contractor Foreman Communicating with field personnel and verifying actual jobsite progress Following up with subcontractors and vendors until commitments are completed Identifying scheduling conflicts and potential delays before they affect the project Maintaining project documentation, photos, inspection information, and records Helping establish and improve systems as the company grows Our Project Management Standard We are looking for ownership, not task management . When something falls within your responsibility, you should know: Its current status What needs to happen next Who is responsible When it will be completed Whether it affects the project schedule or budget What action is required to keep the project moving When a problem occurs, we expect our Project Manager to investigate it, verify the facts, identify available solutions, and bring ownership a recommended course of action when approval is required. You will work closely with company ownership, but this position requires someone who can increasingly operate independently rather than requiring continuous direction or reminders. Required Qualifications Construction experience is required. Strong candidates should have previous experience as a Construction Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Construction Manager, Superintendent with project-management responsibilities, or a similar construction leadership position. Residential construction or homebuilding experience is strongly preferred.
You should also have:
Strong understanding of residential construction sequencing Experience coordinating subcontractors and vendors Experience managing schedules and multiple projects simultaneously Ability to read construction plans and specifications Strong computer and organizational skills Experience with construction-management software Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to identify problems and develop solutions independently Strong follow-through and accountability Ability to prioritize without needing constant supervision Compensation & Growth Starting compensation: $23.00/hour The starting rate is the entry point into our company, not the ceiling for the position. Compensation growth will be based on demonstrated performance, independence, project ownership, leadership, and the level of responsibility successfully managed. For the right Project Manager who demonstrates the ability to take substantial ownership of our construction operations, there is a path toward $100,000 in annual compensation as responsibilities and company operations grow. We are building for the long term and are looking for someone who wants to grow with us. Application Please submit your résumé and briefly answer the following: How many years have you worked in construction? What types of construction projects have you personally managed?
