Job Description
Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated Construction Specialist III contractor to support infrastructure projects within the North West Palm Beach through Orlando markets. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing overhead and underground construction tasks, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining accurate project documentation. This role involves extensive fieldwork, with travel expenses covered, and offers an opportunity to work on critical network infrastructure projects in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities Perform overhead and underground construction activities, such as installing hard-line connectivity and platforms, framing and strand poles, transferring facilities between poles, and placing connectivity platforms in joint trenches, all while operating construction vehicles and trailers safely. Maintain precise records of project timelines, milestones, production logs, material costs, and labor expenditures. Promote and enforce safety standards by conducting site visits, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and participating in safety meetings with the crew. Assist project teams and leadership with coordination efforts, ensuring smooth project execution. Generate detailed logs and reports covering construction progress, project status, materials used, and expenditures. Address and resolve customer requests and complaints promptly and professionally. Monitor the performance of construction crews to meet established goals and performance standards. Maintain regular, punctual attendance and availability for night, weekend, or overtime work as needed. Supervise and coordinate daily activities of support, technical, or production staff as applicable. Prioritize tasks for the team, assign work, and review progress regularly to ensure quality and efficiency. Ensure all work complies with applicable standards, regulations, and policies at local, state, and federal levels. Update project documentation systems, including verifying paths in job maps and documents. Serve as the primary field interface with contractors and act as a liaison with network technicians. Ensure newly installed or upgraded power supplies are operational prior to cut-over dates. Oversee the quality of the network product, from construction to handoff to operations. Allocate approximately 90% of work time to field activities, adhering to project and safety requirements. Other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Proven experience in overhead and underground telecommunications or utility construction. Strong knowledge of safety standards and procedures in construction environments. Ability to manage multiple tasks, coordinate teams, and document work accurately. Excellent communication skills for liaising with contractors, technicians, and customer service teams. Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and variable schedules, including overtime, when necessary. Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Preferred Qualifications Experience with project documentation tools such as job maps or project tracking systems. Familiarity with network infrastructure and construction quality standards. Prior experience working as a field coordinator or liaison within a telecommunications or utility setting. Ability to problem-solve using structured enterprise methodologies (e.g., 8D, DMAIC, or equivalent frameworks).
