We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Superintendent to support day-to-day field operations across construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional looking to continue developing their field leadership skills and advance into a Superintendent role. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent and Project Manager to help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project plans and specifications. Projects may include multifamily renovations, occupied rehabilitation projects, commercial renovations, and ground-up construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Superintendent with managing daily jobsite activities. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, trade partners, and field personnel. Monitor construction progress and verify work complies with plans, specifications, building codes, and established standards. Conduct routine site walks and identify issues requiring resolution. Assist with site logistics, material deliveries, staging, mobilization, turnover, and closeout. Monitor project schedules, milestone dates, subcontractor performance, and critical-path activities. Participate in look-ahead planning and trade coordination meetings. Inspect ongoing work for quality, completeness, and compliance. Assist with punch lists, deficiencies, inspections, testing, and owner walkthroughs. Promote and enforce safety policies and OSHA requirements. Participate in safety inspections, toolbox talks, and incident investigations. Support coordination with residents and tenants on occupied renovation projects while minimizing disruption. Prepare daily reports, project photographs, inspection logs, manpower reports, and delivery tracking. Document field conditions, project changes, delays, and potential risks. Utilize Procore and other construction management software to track project information.
Qualifications:
2-5+ years of construction field experience. Experience in one or more of the following: Multifamily renovations Occupied rehabilitation projects Commercial renovations Ground-up construction Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and safety practices. Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, or similar construction software. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Experience with occupied multifamily renovations. Experience coordinating multiple subcontractor trades. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
