Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Underground Utility Supervisor to lead and oversee underground utility installation projects within the construction sector. This role is vital in coordinating crews, managing safety protocols, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring projects adhere to schedule, budget, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, construction management expertise, and a thorough understanding of underground utility systems, including pipelines and electrical conduits. Duties Supervise and coordinate underground utility installation crews, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications. Review construction drawings and technical plans to interpret project scope and identify potential challenges early on. Manage project schedules using construction management software such as Primavera P6 and HeavyBid to ensure timely delivery of milestones. Oversee safety compliance by enforcing federal construction safety regulations (OSHA) and construction site safety standards throughout all phases of work. Conduct quality control inspections, ensuring adherence to blueprint details, technical specifications, and construction regulations. Collaborate with project managers on budgeting, resource allocation, and contract management to optimize project performance. Lead team meetings, manage crew assignments, and supervise subcontractors while maintaining clear communication regarding project goals and safety protocols. Utilize tools such as Ohmmeter for electrical testing and Bluebeam for digital plan review to support accurate execution of work. Coordinate construction schedule updates, monitor progress, and adjust plans as needed to meet deadlines. Ensure all work complies with OSHA standards and federal construction safety regulations for underground utilities. Requirements Proven experience supervising underground utility or pipeline construction projects within a commercial or heavy civil setting. Strong knowledge of construction management software including Primavera P6, Primavera, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other relevant tools. Demonstrated ability in managing teams in a construction management role with excellent crew management skills. Extensive experience reading blueprints, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction plans accurately. Familiarity with OSHA standards, federal safety regulations related to underground utilities, and construction safety management practices. Skilled in project scheduling, managing budgets, and coordinating construction schedules effectively. Hands-on experience with construction site operations including use of ohmmeters for electrical testing and interpreting technical specifications. Excellent managerial communication skills with the ability to lead teams confidently while maintaining safety compliance. Construction site experience with a focus on underground utilities such as pipelines or electrical conduits is required. Valid certifications in OSHA safety standards; additional certifications such as management or supervisory training are preferred. Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and ensure quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
