Heavy Civil / Water & Wastewater Construction About the Position We are seeking an experienced Foreman / Assistant Superintendent to join our growing construction team. This position is ideal for a proven field leader who takes pride in running an organized, productive, and safe jobsite and is looking for the opportunity to take the next step toward becoming a Project Superintendent . The successful candidate will work closely with the Superintendent, Project Manager, subcontractors, equipment operators, and field crews to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest standards of quality. Our projects typically range from $5 million to $30+ million , providing an opportunity to work on challenging and technically demanding water and wastewater construction projects throughout the Atlanta area. Key Responsibilities Assist the Superintendent with the day-to-day management of construction activities. Direct and coordinate field crews, subcontractors, equipment operators, and laborers. Plan daily and weekly work activities and ensure crews have the manpower, equipment, and materials necessary to maintain production. Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, plans, and schedules. Monitor jobsite progress and communicate potential schedule or production issues to the Superintendent and Project Manager. Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, and schedule performance . Conduct daily pre-task planning and ensure work is performed in accordance with company safety policies and project requirements. Coordinate work between multiple trades and subcontractors. Verify that work is being performed according to plans and specifications. Assist with layout, elevations, quantities, and field measurements as required. Identify potential conflicts or constructability issues and communicate them to project management. Assist with material deliveries, equipment coordination, and site logistics. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite. Participate in daily/weekly planning meetings and provide accurate field updates. Help document daily production, manpower, equipment, and project activities. Lead by example and hold field personnel accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and professionalism. Qualifications 5+ years of construction field experience , preferably in heavy civil, water/wastewater, industrial, or similar construction. Previous experience as a Foreman, Lead Foreman, General Foreman, or Assistant Superintendent preferred. Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and field operations. Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications. Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors effectively. Ability to identify problems in the field and develop practical solutions. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently while supporting the Superintendent and Project Manager. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. OSHA 30 and other relevant certifications are a plus. Communicates problems early rather than allowing them to become surprises. Can effectively manage subcontractors and field personnel. Has the judgment to make good decisions in the field.
