You will be the key link between office management, field crews, and sub-contractors. We need someone who leads from the front, keeps equipment moving, enforces safety without compromise, and knows how to keep projects running on schedule and under budget.
Key Responsibilities Field Operations:
Oversee day-to-day site operations, heavy equipment operators, pipe layers, and subcontractors from ground-breaking through final sign-off.
Utility Installation:
Direct the installation of mainline storm drainage, sanitary sewer, water mains, structures, and sub-base preparation.
Plan & Spec Oversight:
Read and interpret civil blueprints, grade stakes, cut/fill sheets, and utility profiles to ensure work is built strictly to specification.
Production & Scheduling:
Coordinate daily jobsite logistics, material deliveries, line locations (811/locates), and equipment utilization to meet production targets.
Crew Leadership:
Manage crew schedules, track daily field logs, verify timecards, and mentor crew members on quality and speed.
Safety & Compliance:
Enforce OSHA safety standards on-site daily—including trench safety, trench boxes, shoring, air monitoring, and slope protection.
Communication:
Work hand-in-hand with Project Managers, Inspectors, Engineers, and General Contractors to resolve field conflicts before they cost time or money.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
5+ years of supervisory experience in heavy civil, underground utility, or site excavation work.
License:
State Utility Foreman or Utility Contractor License (or ability to obtain) preferred.
Technical Skills:
Deep understanding of line/grade control, laser levels, pipe laying practices, soil compaction, and heavy equipment operation (excavators, loaders, dozers).
Certifications:
OSHA 30-Hour certification and Competent Person training (Trenching/Excavation) preferred.
Leadership:
Strong communication skills with a practical, clear, no-nonsense leadership style.
Driver's License:
Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record (CDL is a plus).
