Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Retail Construction Project Manager to lead and oversee complex retail construction projects from inception to completion. In this role, you will coordinate all phases of construction, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities Lead the planning, execution, and closing of commercial retail construction projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget. Develop detailed project schedules using project management software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project, coordinating construction schedules with subcontractors and vendors. Manage project budgets through cost estimation, cost management strategies, and tracking expenditures using HeavyBid or similar construction estimating tools. Oversee the preparation and review of construction plans, schematics, blueprints, and regulatory documents to ensure compliance with local codes and safety standards. Coordinate procurement activities, including contract negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services. Supervise on-site construction activities by managing teams in a construction management role, ensuring quality control and safety protocols are strictly followed. Monitor project progress through regular site visits, utilizing Construction schedule coordination to keep projects on track. Facilitate effective communication among stakeholders by managing project documentation, contracts, change orders, and progress reports. Ensure all construction activities comply with applicable regulations and environmental standards while maintaining a focus on safety at all times. Lead project meetings to review progress, address issues promptly, and adjust plans as needed to meet project goals. Requirements Proven experience managing commercial retail or similar construction projects with a strong understanding of construction regulations and safety standards. Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), Bluebeam for document review, and Construction management software tools. Extensive knowledge of construction estimating techniques including HeavyBid or similar platforms. Skilled in reading blueprints, schematics, and construction plans; familiarity with Civil 3D is a plus. Strong background in project scheduling, cost management, contract administration, and project coordination. Demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively on busy construction sites while maintaining high safety standards. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. Construction site experience with a comprehensive understanding of building codes, permits, and regulatory compliance requirements.
