WHY DO WE NEED YOU?
The Estimating Manager position is responsible for all estimating efforts in the pre-construction phase of construction - including design, programming, schematic design, and design development phases. The Estimating Manager is primarily responsible for managing the training, performance, adherence, quality, and profitability of the Estimating department and its team members. This role wears many "hats" as well - managing costing, pricing, ERP standards, CRM standards, product knowledge, project pipelines, sales analytics, and relations with our independent sales representatives and customers. Review architectural drawings and specifications for project requirements. Create ceiling and wall takeoffs (material estimates) utilizing takeoff software like On-screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, and/or BlueBeam. Create bid and/or budget estimates of material from approximately 40 different metal and felt ceiling product families and their variations. Revise and re-submit estimates as necessary after feedback is received from sales representatives and/or customers. Collaborate with Sales team in negotiations of large and/or complex "landmark" bid opportunities to ensure we mitigate risk and maximize profit. Review and approve all "landmark" bid estimates from team members prior to issuance. Document, track, and report on all bid opportunities in ERP system (SAP S4 HANA), CRM platform (Salesforce), and shared Tracking sheet. Assign and delegate bid requests and other responsibilities as needed across Estimating team to ensure quoting demand is balanced across the team. Measure, document, and review performance of all Estimators and Pricing Analyst(s). Provide reports on quoting activity, service (turnaround) time, trendlines, and conversion rates. Maintain internal cost deck and pricing tools in excel, based on inputs from design, production, planning, finance, and sales teams. Study projects post-mortem to understand costing variances. Maintain and disseminate external price book for our sales representatives. Establish and implement standard operating procedures and best practices for Estimating team. Develop standardized quoting templates and quoting tools for Estimating team. Train new team members and review bid opportunities for conformity to standards. Develop pricing for new products and facilitate product training. Maintain Estimating processes and workstream within our ERP system, SAP S4 HANA. Identify and troubleshoot issues with Advanced Variant Configurators and other functions within
SAP S4 HANA.
Manage project opportunities in CRM platform, Salesforce.
