Job Description

Base salary range: $90,000 - $110,000 Job Summary The Superintendent I oversee' s daily construction site operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role involves supervising workers, subcontractors, and vendors, coordinating with project managers, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and building codes. The Superintendent manages resources, resolves on-site issues, and maintains effective communication with stakeholders to ensure project success.   • Plan, coordinate, and supervise construction activities to meet schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Interpret and implement construction plans, blueprints, and specifications, ensuring compliance with government contracts or commercial standards.
  • Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks (e.g., delays, cost overruns), and maintain schedule and budget.
  • Conduct quality control inspections to meet building codes, mil-con standards (e.g., UFC/LEED), or commercial requirements.
  • Resolve on-site issues, including subcontractor conflicts or technical challenges, with minimal supervision.
  • Enforce OSHA and
EM 385-1-1
safety standards, conduct safety training, and ensure compliance with mil-con security and safety protocols.
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients (e.g., military or commercial developers) to provide updates and resolve issues.
  • Maintain and update construction schedules, order materials, and schedule inspections as needed.
  • Support the estimating team as a technical professional.
  • Prepare and revise project work plans, submittals, and reports (e.g., field reports, quantity tracking, progress reports) for client and regulatory review.
  • Perform constructability reviews and collaborate with design teams to identify value engineering opportunities.
  • Supervise subcontractor and vendor procurement, material buyout, logistics, and subcontract scoping per FAR and project requirements.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and employees.
  • Promote job site safety, rectify hazards immediately, and ensure adherence to company safety policies.
  • Maintain an organized and clean job site and construction office.
  • Minimize company exposure and project performance risks.
  • Travel as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Competencies
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills, including effective listening.
  • Ability to analyze problems, make timely decisions based on objectives, risks, and costs, and work well with diverse personalities.
  • Skilled in maintaining relationships with Federal clients.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid); familiarity with scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
  • Skilled in Bluebeam or similar software for creating markups and RFIs.
  • Knowledge of
OSHA, EM 385-1-1, UFC
standards, commercial construction practices, and the estimating process.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills under pressure.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet deadlines and perform tasks safely. Required Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED; associate or bachelor's degree may be required based on project needs (equivalent experience accepted).
  • 4-6 years of construction experience, including 1-2 years in a supervisory role on commercial or mil-con projects.
  • Proficient in reading construction drawings, schedules, and government contracts (e.g., FAR, DFARS).
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Experience with projects valued between $1M and $5M.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance for mil-con projects.
  • Valid driver's license. Preferred Education and Experience
  • 40-hour
HAZWOPER
certification. Work Environment
  • Extended working hours may be required to meet critical goals.
  • Exposure to indoor/outdoor conditions, noise, moving mechanical parts, vehicles, scaffolding, high places, chemicals, fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
  • Requires close visual acuity for computer work and extensive reading. Physical Qualifications
  • Must stoop, kneel, reach, walk, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Must hear audible safety alarms and have adequate visual acuity for safe task performance.
  • Must exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, or a negligible amount constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects, including the human body.
