Job Description
BIM/VDC Coordinator - Key Qualifications and Responsibilities Core Competencies Ensure productive and consistent communication among subcontractors, designers, field teams, and project teams. Translate drawings, models, and technical information into effective virtual construction workflows. Demonstrate persistence, tenacity, and exceptional attention to detail. Inspire and motivate diverse teams toward common project goals. Evaluate team performance against BIM/VDC goals and address deficiencies proactively. Maintain patience and composure during high-pressure situations. Lead BIM/VDC coordination meetings and workshops. Simplify complex technical issues for audiences with varying levels of BIM/VDC knowledge. Exhibit confident leadership with humility. Uphold strong personal standards and remain mission focused. Navigate complex team dynamics with a tailored approach to individuals. Analyze challenges from multiple perspectives and support teams in resolving issues. Adapt quickly and embrace continuous learning. Key Responsibilities Monitor and measure BIM/VDC goals and ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on time. Keep project teams informed of coordination issues, clashes, and potential schedule impacts. Review BIM/VDC standards and processes with a focus on continuous improvement. Perform model QA/QC. Develop and deliver BIM/VDC training to project teams. Conduct frequent model reviews and coordination workshops. Promote collaboration across departments and business units. Identify software and process inefficiencies and recommend improvements. Anticipate risks and implement mitigation strategies. Prioritize tasks and meet deadlines consistently. Technical Responsibilities Develop and maintain BIM Execution Plans. Create and update 3D models as needed. Provide 4D scheduling support and training. Produce construction visualizations, renderings, and 4D animations. Apply and enforce Level of Detail (LOD) standards and modeling best practices. Coordinate subcontractor models into a master model. Document and communicate project risks, delays, and coordination issues. Develop KPIs and accountability measures. Assist with SOP development, implementation, and enforcement. Provide constructability reviews and technical support during preconstruction and construction. Support project pursuits with models, virtual work plans, and interview participation. Assist with corrective action and recovery plans for distressed projects. Develop and audit models throughout all phases of design development. Reinforce company and industry standards. Deliver BIM/VDC support that improves procurement, submittals, and project management. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, project stakeholders, and internal teams. Increase BIM/VDC awareness and performance across the organization. Collaborate with other BIM/VDC Coordinators across business units. Construction and Technical Knowledge Strong understanding of all building construction trades. Working knowledge of MEP systems. Experience with LiDAR scanning, photogrammetry, and drone technology. Ability to audit and evaluate project schedules. Knowledge of BIM/VDC best practices across commercial construction projects. Software Proficiency Revizto BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud Navisworks Revit Bluebeam Revu AutoCAD Procore Outbuild Primavera P6 Microsoft Project Microsoft Office Suite Education and Experience Preferred Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Technology, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of construction industry experience focused on technology and process solutions. Skilled in 3D modeling and core VDC workflows. FAA Drone Certification is optional but encouraged.
