Reconstruction Project Manager / Estimator Restorex | Caldwell, Idaho Position Overview Restorex is seeking an experienced Reconstruction Project Manager / Estimator to lead insurance restoration repair projects from inspection and estimating through final completion. This role requires strong Xactimate skills, confidence negotiating estimates with adjusters, and the ability to manage schedules, in-house repair technicians, subcontractors, and customer expectations. You will be accountable for accurate scopes, organized project files, quality workmanship, timely completion, and job profitability. We are looking for someone who works independently, follows established systems, and consistently follows through without repeated reminders. Key Responsibilities Estimating and Adjuster Communication Inspect properties, document damage, take measurements, and develop complete repair scopes. Write accurate, detailed estimates in Xactimate. Review carrier estimates to identify missing scope, quantity discrepancies, and pricing concerns. Prepare and submit supplements with supporting photos, measurements, subcontractor bids, and other documentation. Communicate professionally with adjusters and negotiate repair scope and pricing using clear, documented justification. Track outstanding estimates, supplements, and approvals, and follow up consistently. Document estimate revisions and communicate approved scope and customer-authorized changes to the production team. Project Planning and Team Management Manage multiple reconstruction projects from initial inspection through final walkthrough. Build practical schedules based on scope, labor availability, material lead times, and trade sequencing. Schedule and supervise in-house repair technicians and subcontractors. Provide clear work instructions, daily priorities, and completion expectations. Coordinate material selections, purchasing, deliveries, and subcontractor availability before work begins. Conduct regular site visits to verify progress, workmanship, and compliance with the project scope. Address delays, field questions, and quality concerns promptly. Manage punch lists and obtain completion documentation. Customer Communication and Documentation Keep customers informed about schedules, selections, approvals, changes, and project progress. Set realistic expectations and address concerns professionally. Maintain current job notes, photos, schedules, estimates, approvals, and change orders in company systems. Document important conversations, decisions, and next steps so the team can clearly understand each job's status. Ensure additional work is documented and authorized before proceeding. Job Costing and Accountability Establish and monitor project budgets, including labor, materials, and subcontractor costs. Compare actual costs and production progress against the estimate. Identify potential overruns early and take corrective action. Reduce avoidable return trips, scheduling gaps, and rework through thorough planning. Coordinate with the office to provide accurate billing and closeout documentation. Required Qualifications Demonstrated experience estimating and managing insurance restoration or reconstruction projects. Strong working proficiency in Xactimate, including sketches, line items, quantities, and supplements. Proven ability to communicate with insurance adjusters and negotiate scope and pricing. Practical knowledge of residential construction, repair methods, and trade sequencing. Experience scheduling and supervising field technicians and subcontractors. Strong written and verbal communication with customers, adjusters, vendors, and team members. Ability to manage multiple active jobs while maintaining accurate documentation and timely follow-up. Comfort using project-management software, photo-documentation tools, and digital scheduling systems. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites throughout the Treasure Valley.
