$25-30/hr Mountain Valley Prefab is hiring an experienced On-Site Assistant Manager to support daily construction operations at our Idaho Falls factory.
This position will primarily coordinate and manage subcontractors working inside the factory. The right candidate must have hands-on construction experience, understand construction sequencing, and be able to keep multiple trades organized, productive, and accountable. Responsibilities Coordinate subcontractors and daily construction activities inside the factory Schedule trades according to project timelines and construction sequencing Confirm subcontractors have the information, materials, and access needed to complete their work Monitor progress, workmanship, safety, and jobsite organization Review plans, specifications, measurements, and project requirements Conduct regular quality-control checks throughout construction Identify incomplete or incorrect work and coordinate corrections Track project milestones, open items, inspections, and completion dates Communicate delays, material shortages, conflicts, and other concerns to management Coordinate with office staff, purchasing, production, and project leadership Help enforce factory policies, safety requirements, and company standards Maintain clear documentation of progress, issues, and subcontractor performance Assist the Factory Manager with daily operations and leadership responsibilities Qualifications Construction experience is required Experience coordinating or supervising subcontractors is strongly preferred Previous experience as a construction superintendent, foreman, project coordinator, lead, or assistant manager is a major plus Working knowledge of residential construction methods and trade sequencing Ability to read construction plans and identify discrepancies Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills Comfortable holding subcontractors accountable for quality and deadlines Able to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time Basic computer, email, and documentation skills Dependable, professional, and able to work independently Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Experience with modular construction, factory-built housing, residential construction, framing, or manufacturing is preferred. What We're Looking For We need someone who can walk the factory floor, understand what is happening, recognize what should happen next, and keep subcontractors moving without constant direction. This person must be proactive, organized, and willing to address problems directly before they affect quality or the project schedule.
