: Construction Project Manager

The Role We are seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented Project Manager to oversee our residential and commercial exterior projects. You will be the "eyes and ears" on the job site, responsible for ensuring nails, shingles, and panels meet our quality standards. You will manage crews, timelines, and materials while serving as the primary point of contact for the homeowner during the build. Key Responsibilities 1. On-Site Quality Control & Code Compliance Perform site supervision to ensure all work meets or exceeds Illinois building codes and manufacturer specifications. Conduct rigorous quality checkpoints (e.g., checking ice and water shield installation, flashing details, and siding house-wrap). Identify and correct any sub-standard workmanship immediately to prevent future "call-backs." 2. Production & Timeline Management Manage job site logistics, including trailer placement, property protection (landscaping/windows), and daily debris cleanup. Provide daily progress updates to the office and the homeowner. 3. Insurance & Documentation Support Work closely with York Public Adjusting to document "supplemental" items found during the tear-off process (e.g., rotted decking or code-required upgrades). Capture high-quality photo documentation of the build process for insurance verification and company archives. 4. Safety & Professionalism Enforce OSHA safety standards on all job sites. Maintain a professional, clean, and respectful job site environment that reflects the Cupples Construction brand.

Qualifications Experience:

Minimum 2-4 years of experience in roofing/siding project management or as a lead foreman preferred.

Technical Knowledge:

Deep understanding of residential roofing systems (asphalt, metal) and siding (vinyl, James Hardie). Familiarity with building codes is a major plus.

Communication:

Ability to manage diverse crews and explain technical build details to homeowners in a clear, friendly manner.

Organization:

Must be able to juggle multiple job sites simultaneously while maintaining a high level of detail.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to climb ladders and walk on roofs for inspections.

License:
