Position Overview We are seeking an experienced

MEP/HVAC

Project Manager to manage multiple commercial mechanical construction projects from estimating and contract award through completion. The ideal candidate will have experience with HVAC and mechanical systems , project estimating and budgeting, subcontractor management, cost control, scheduling, client communication, and field coordination. Projects may include higher education, healthcare, laboratory, and institutional facilities , with work involving HVAC, ductwork, piping, electrical, plumbing, temperature controls, building automation, and testing and balancing. Approximately 95% of the workload will be within the greater Chicago metropolitan area . Occasional travel outside the Chicagoland area may be required, but overnight travel is not currently anticipated. This position offers significant autonomy and does not require daily attendance at an office. Key Responsibilities Generate estimates and project budgets, including conceptual estimates. Manage multiple construction projects simultaneously. Negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, field crews, and project stakeholders. Issue and manage subcontract documentation, including contracts and insurance requirements. Manage project cost-control activities, including: Schedules of Values Invoices

Cost reporting Cost projections Manage self-performed labor. Develop and manage project schedules. Support field installation and project execution from beginning through completion. Perform project responsibilities with professionalism and respect for colleagues, clients, and the organization. Required Experience & Qualifications 2-5 years of project management experience preferred. Experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously. Experience with mechanical systems and major equipment, including: AHUs VAVs Chillers Boilers Ductwork Experience issuing contracts and negotiating agreements. Knowledge of risk management, construction safety, and insurance. Experience with conceptual estimating and/or budget development for mechanical systems. Experience with self-performed labor and productivity projections/analysis. Familiarity with lump-sum, construction management, and design/build projects. Ability to read and comprehend drawings, specifications, technical reports, RFPs, and RFQs. Knowledge of union labor agreements. Understanding of overall construction processes and project delivery methods, including: Plan & Spec GMP Time & Material Strong professional writing and communication skills. Proficiency with spreadsheets and the ability to create, edit, and manipulate templates. Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management degree preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus, but not required. Pay:

$65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
