Job Description
Job Description Astound is hiring a Director, Construction to lead large-scale fiber and outside plant builds supporting our broadband, TV, and voice services. In this role, you will oversee end-to-end planning and execution of multi-market construction projects, managing contractors, vendors, and internal teams to deliver safe, high-quality work on time and within budget. You will align construction with network expansion goals, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and drive continuous improvement in methods, tools, and workflows. This leader will hire and develop construction managers, partner closely with engineering and operations, and model Astound's customer-first, community-focused culture in every project. Responsibilities Lead end-to-end planning and execution of outside plant and fiber network construction projects for residential and business services Oversee contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery of builds and upgrades Align construction plans with network expansion, permitting, and design standards in partnership with engineering and operations Develop and manage construction budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics across multiple markets Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards for all construction activities Optimize construction processes, tools, and workflows to improve speed, quality, and customer impact Partner with local market leaders to prioritize projects based on customer demand and strategic growth goals Hire, develop, and mentor construction managers and field leaders, promoting Astound's customer-first culture Resolve escalated construction issues, risks, and community concerns, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders Drive continuous improvement and innovation in construction methods, materials, and vendor management Required Skills Telecommunications or fiber network construction Project and program management Construction budgeting and cost control Vendor and contractor management Outside plant (OSP) and utility construction standards Permitting and right-of-way coordination Regulatory and safety compliance (OSHA, local codes) Process improvement and workflow optimization Leadership of managers and field teams Data-driven performance tracking and reporting
