Green Attic is hiring a full-time Solar Project Manager to oversee residential and commercial solar installations throughout Chicagoland. This role is ideal for an experienced solar professional who understands the full lifecycle of solar projects — from approved sale through installation, inspections, and final completion. The Solar Project Manager will coordinate installers, electricians, subcontractors, vendors, customers, permits, inspections, materials, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to approved plans. This is an in-person position based out of our Schiller Park office with regular jobsite visits throughout Chicagoland. As solar demand changes throughout the year, this role will expand into general construction project management , supporting other company divisions including roofing, insulation, and related construction projects. We are looking for someone who wants a long-term career managing construction operations, not a seasonal solar-only position.

$80,000-$90,000/year base salary based on experience About the Role The Solar Project Manager is responsible for taking ownership of solar projects from kickoff through completion. You will work directly with leadership, sales, customers, field crews, electricians, inspectors, suppliers, and subcontractors to keep projects organized and moving forward. The ideal candidate is someone who understands both the technical side of solar installation and the operational side of construction management . You should be comfortable walking jobsites, reviewing project requirements, identifying issues early, coordinating solutions, and ensuring projects are completed correctly. ResponsibilitiesSolar Project Management (Primary Responsibility) Manage residential and commercial solar projects from approved contract through final closeout Review project scope, plans, equipment selections, layouts, and installation requirements Coordinate solar installation crews, electricians, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers Manage project schedules, milestones, material deliveries, inspections, and customer communication Review job requirements before installation to identify potential conflicts or delays Perform jobsite visits to monitor: Installation progress Quality of workmanship Safety compliance Material usage Project completion status Coordinate with: Municipal inspectors Utilities AHJs Customers Internal departments Track and maintain project documentation: Permits Photos Inspection results Approvals Change orders Closeout documents Resolve project issues involving scheduling, materials, inspections, customers, and field conditions Ensure installations follow approved plans, manufacturer requirements, and safety standards Construction Project Management Support During slower solar periods, this position will transition into supporting other construction operations.

RequirementsRequired:
Experience managing solar projects, solar installations, or solar construction operations Strong understanding of rooftop solar installation processes Experience coordinating installers, electricians, subcontractors, vendors, or suppliers Ability to manage projects from planning through completion Understanding of solar equipment, installation requirements, and jobsite coordination Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to solve problems independently and make decisions in the field Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to work from the Schiller Park office and travel to Chicagoland jobsites
