Assistant Construction Project Manager / Superintendent JOB Description Rapidly growing general contractor, environmental & geotechnical remediation company in the greater Chicago area is looking for a reliable and effective Assistant Construction Project Manager / Superintendent to coordinate and supervise horizontal commercial & residential construction projects. The position includes working as an important team member in the successful execution and delivery of construction projects within budget, on time and of high quality. Position Summary Project related responsibilities include but not limited to document management, scheduling, reporting, quality control, safety, and other basic tasks during the construction process. Project Responsibilities
  • Work with the client's representative to communicate progress of the project
  • Preparing weekly progress / status reports
  • Preparing and maintaining project schedules
  • Coordinating subcontractors to maintain project schedules
  • Preparing weekly progress / status reports
  • Tracking and coordination of material and equipment deliveries
  • Track, coordinate and manage Requests for Information (RFI) between design team, field and subcontractors
  • Manage public and private utilities company installations that are necessary for the project
  • Administer project punch list
  • Prepare project close-out documents and coordinate submittals to the client and others as required
  • Participate in various construction meetings as required
  • Anticipate and resolve issues that may arise on the project that could affect completion of the project on time and within budget
  • Oversee general correspondence and perform additional assignments as assigned Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering or a highly related discipline preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend project specifications, drawings and contracts
  • Knowledge of construction equipment and techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Job Type:
Full-time Local Travel to projects in the Chicagoland area is required.
