Multifamily Construction Location:
Indianapolis, IN (Office-based) Our Client is a well-established construction firm specializing in the development of multifamily apartment complexes. They are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their Indianapolis office and lead the successful delivery of multifamily projects. Position Overview The Project Manager will be responsible for the full planning, coordination, and oversight of multifamily construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a proven track record in multifamily residential construction. The Project Manager will work closely with superintendents, owners, design teams, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities Lead the overall planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution of multifamily apartment projects. Serve as the primary point of contact with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors. Develop and manage project budgets, track costs, and process change orders. Create and maintain detailed project schedules; monitor progress and implement corrective actions as needed. Oversee the review and processing of RFIs, submittals, and all project documentation. Lead regular project meetings and ensure clear, consistent communication among all stakeholders. Manage pre-construction activities, including bid solicitation, subcontractor selection, and contract negotiations. Ensure full compliance with contract documents, quality standards, and safety requirements. Direct project closeout activities, including punch lists, final documentation, and owner turnover. Mentor team members and foster a collaborative, results-driven project environment. Qualifications Proven experience as a Project Manager on multifamily residential construction projects (multifamily experience is required). Strong knowledge of construction contracts, budgeting, scheduling, and project delivery methods. Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Relevant industry certifications a plus.
