Job Description
We are seeking a Site Coordinator to support day-to-day construction activities on an active industrial project site. This is a primarily field-based position , and the successful candidate must be comfortable spending most of the workday on the construction site. The ideal candidate should be able to read and understand construction drawings , communicate effectively with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and field crews, and help coordinate work to ensure construction activities are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. This is not an administrative-only coordinator position. Candidates should have practical construction knowledge and be comfortable reviewing drawings and verifying field conditions. Key Responsibilities Spend the majority of working hours on the construction site coordinating daily activities. Read and understand construction drawings, plans, specifications, and details . Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with daily field coordination. Coordinate activities among subcontractors, vendors, field crews, and project management. Compare field installation and site conditions against approved drawings. Identify potential discrepancies, conflicts, or constructability issues and communicate them to the appropriate project team members. Track daily construction progress and provide updates to project management. Follow up on open items, field issues, RFIs, material needs, and schedule-related matters. Assist with subcontractor scheduling and coordination. Attend site meetings, toolbox meetings, and project coordination meetings as needed. Maintain basic field documentation, photos, reports, and construction records. Help ensure work areas are ready before subcontractors or crews begin their activities. Coordinate material deliveries, equipment access, and site logistics when required. Support quality control and help verify completed work before turnover or inspection. Communicate professionally with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members. Follow all project safety requirements and company procedures. Qualifications Previous experience in construction, field coordination, project coordination, or a similar role preferred. Ability to read and understand construction drawings is required. Familiarity with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or other construction drawings is strongly preferred. Basic understanding of construction sequencing and field operations. Comfortable working in an active industrial/construction environment. Strong communication and coordination skills. Able to identify issues in the field and communicate them clearly to project management. Organized and capable of following multiple ongoing tasks. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PDF drawing review. Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, AutoCAD, or similar construction software is a plus. Must be dependable, punctual, and comfortable working independently in the field.
