Position Purpose:

Geminus Head Start serves vulnerable children from birth to five years of age. Building on early childhood best practices for the education and disabilities service area of Early Head Start and Head Start, Geminus promotes school readiness by implementing effective programming aimed at preventing the development of an achievement gap in the early years. Geminus Head Start is dedicated to serving the Northwest Indiana communities by inspiring high-quality programming, improving parent engagement in the lives of their children and demonstrating a comprehensive approach to the first five years of life and learning. As part of the Geminus Head Start, each site will become a Level 4 Paths to Quality site and reach NAEYC accreditation. Geminus Head Start will build an infrastructure to support a blend of public dollars, including child care, Early Head Start, Head Start, and other state and local education funding streams that are available to provide an extended full day full year program model for families in need of a longer day of service in order for the parents to work or go to school. Scope of Authority/Responsibility This position is chiefly responsible for supporting educational quality and positive child outcomes throughout the program. The Site Manager overseas the day-to-day implementation of all education and disabilities services provided through the Geminus Early Head Start and Head Start program. The Site Manager will work closely with the Child Development Manager and collaborate with other staff in the Head Start program to ensure that outcomes are achieved for children of all abilities. The Site Manger supports evidence-based instructional practices by providing classroom and home visiting staff with instructional support and supervision through design, deliver and coordination of intensive professional development; facilitation of interdisciplinary collaboration; and administration support. Outcomes of the Site Manager's work include exemplary early learning classroom quality, teacher-child interactions, and retention of staff.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

Academic:

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development / Education or in a related field.

Experience:

At least five years of Early Childhood experience and at least three years of supervisory experience
