You'll directly oversee our Paint Teams Manager and Carpentry Teams Manager, help them become stronger leaders, solve the problems that make their way up the chain, and ultimately take ownership of the quality of our field operation and the experience we deliver to our customers. We're looking for someone with two things that are equally important: You know residential construction inside and out. And you know how to lead people. Compensation & Benefits $75,000 annual salary Company truck Medical benefits Dental and vision benefits Retirement benefit Paid Time Off Year-round position Senior leadership opportunity with a growing company What You'll Lead Odyssey currently operates three painting teams, two exterior carpentry teams, and multiple subcontractor crews. You're being hired to make the entire field team better. You Need to Know Construction. This part is important. We aren't looking for someone who has only managed construction from schedules, spreadsheets, and subcontractor meetings. You need strong, hands-on residential construction knowledge , particularly in: Framing Exterior carpentry Siding installation and repair Deck construction and repair Trim and wood replacement General residential repairs Identifying and correcting poor workmanship You should be able to walk onto a project, recognize when something isn't right, explain why it isn't right, and teach someone how to correct it. You won't spend your days doing the crews' work for them. But you absolutely need to be capable and willing to jump in when the situation calls for it. Painting knowledge is a plus, but it is not required . We can teach you our painting systems and standards. Leadership Experience Is Required Being a great carpenter doesn't automatically make someone a great leader. We need both.
You should have proven experience:
Leading field employees, crews, supervisors, or managers Coaching and developing employees Setting expectations and holding people accountable Addressing performance problems directly and professionally Handling disciplinary situations Making difficult personnel decisions when necessary Teaching less-experienced leaders how to manage their own teams At Odyssey, a job isn't successful simply because the work got finished. You'll also be a senior point of contact when customers need additional attention. That means being able to:
Communicate confidently and professionally with homeowners Handle difficult conversations Resolve problems without passing blame Make sure punch-list and quality issues are addressed Build trust when something doesn't go according to plan Ensure the customer is happy with the final result When a problem reaches you, you own the solution. Help Us Build What's Next Odyssey is growing, and we're building systems that can eventually support operations in multiple cities. During our busy season—approximately nine months of the year— 50+ hour weeks are expected , with typical days around 8:00 AM-6:00 PM. You'll also need to be reachable for urgent field issues until approximately 8:00 PM. December through February are considerably slower and generally have more traditional hours. This is a field leadership position. You'll spend significant time visiting projects, working with managers and crews, inspecting work, solving problems, and meeting with customers. Who We're Looking For You've probably spent years becoming the person others call when something isn't right. You know construction well enough to spot a problem before someone points it out. You've led people long enough to know when someone needs coaching, when they need accountability, and when they simply need you to show them a better way. You're willing to work hard and get your hands dirty—but you've reached the point in your career where your greatest value isn't just what you can build yourself. It's what you can teach other people to build. If you're an experienced residential construction leader who wants to develop people, take real ownership of the field operation, and help build the systems behind a growing company, we want to talk.Pay:
