Job Description

Assistant Superintendent (Full-Time) - Lake Charles, LA Days and hours of work are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Days and times of work can vary We are currently seeking candidates who are interested in pursuing a full time career in residential construction. Being a team player and having a good work ethic and attitude are important to succeed in this role. Experience in customer service and strong communication skills also play a critical part since this role requires face-to-face interaction with homeowners and our trade partners. Responsibilities will involve every part of the production process for multiple residential construction projects at one time. Working as a team and communicating effectively with our trade partners and the neighborhood superintendent to deliver completed homes with a high standard of quality is essential for this role.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop literacy in building code, construction and technical language, construction materials, construction schedules, construction methodologies and standards, and DSLD Homes Field Guide Specs. Assist the superintendent in performing their day-to-day operations of building homes in high volume neighborhoods. Work on punch lists. Communicate effectively with trades and suppliers. Check spec homes. Maintain cleanliness of jobsites. Coordinate with trades and homeowners for any post-closing punch list items. Assist the Customer Care Technicians with warranty work, when needed. Maintain a safe work environment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS
Strong customer service background and positive attitude are a must. Knowledge of residential construction and experience in the industry is preferred. Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and valid motor vehicle liability insurance are required. Position requires the individual to travel to different locations within assigned area. Associate's or Bachelor's degree required. Physical stamina is required because this position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, some climbing or balancing and carrying. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more. Position is often exposed to various weather conditions (especially heat), loud noise, and vibrations. Residency in one of the following states is a requirement for the position: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, or Texas.
