About the Opportunity Our client, one of New England's premier multi-market builders, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Construction Superintendent. With a decades-long track record of excellence, our client specializes in delivering top-tier projects across a variety of sectors, including Healthcare, Commercial/Corporate, Multi-Unit Residential, Education/Institutional, Senior Living, and Faith-Based facilities.
Role Overview The ideal candidate will have robust experience overseeing ground-up or rehabilitation projects valued at over $5 million. You will be responsible for directing the entire construction lifecycle-from initial planning and budgeting to team management, execution, and final delivery.
Working in close partnership with project managers, subcontractors, and key stakeholders, you will ensure that all work is completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, a sharp eye for detail, and the flexibility to either manage multiple smaller projects concurrently or lead a single large-scale project ($10M+).Key ResponsibilitiesDirect and manage construction projects from inception through final completion.
Coordinate schedules and workflows for subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
Ensure strict compliance with all building codes, safety standards, and local regulations.
Review, analyze, and accurately interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans.
Perform rigorous quality control inspections to verify that all work aligns with project specifications.
Track overall project progress, proactively identifying potential delays and adjusting schedules as needed.
Collaborate seamlessly with the internal project team to troubleshoot and resolve site issues.
Maintain clear, professional communication with clients, architects, engineers, and other external stakeholders.
Qualifications & RequirementsProven, hands-on experience as a Superintendent or in a similar leadership role within the commercial construction industry.
Strong foundational knowledge of blueprint reading, construction estimating, and quality assurance procedures.
Thorough understanding of current building codes, OSHA safety regulations, and compliance standards.
Exceptional time-management and organizational capabilities.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively lead and collaborate with diverse, cross-functional teams.
Decisive problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically on your feet.
High attention to detail, particularly in maintaining accurate project documentation.
A degree in Construction Management or a related discipline is preferred.
