M-F, standard business hours Job#: bh19513 Overview This organization is responsible for the operation and maintenance of more than 2 million square feet of complex facilities, as well as facility design, engineering, construction, capital renewal, emergency repair, and deferred maintenance projects. The goal is to provide prompt, high-quality services while ensuring compliance with applicable building codes, safety requirements, and industry standards. Job Description Provide oversight of daily field operations and construction progress while ensuring site safety and quality control standards are met. Oversee construction contractors to ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, applicable standards, and building codes. Develop a comprehensive understanding of project strategy and commitments, including scheduling, logistics, phasing, milestones, and inspections. Work closely with the Project Manager to maintain accurate project schedules reflecting changes in project status, cost, and timeline requirements. Provide construction progress reports to the Project Manager and administrative support necessary for project completion. Maintain effective and open communication with the project team and building occupants regarding changes in work, job conditions, contractor relations, and deviations from project plans. Maintain positive working relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and other members of the project team. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience preferred. 3-5 years of experience in the construction industry. OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 certification is a plus. Understanding of construction project design and engineering. Knowledge of construction activities, including materials, equipment, costs, and scheduling requirements. Knowledge of applicable construction and building codes. Broad understanding of facility engineering disciplines and building trades. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. Ability to climb portable and permanent ladders, stairs, and staging; work in confined areas; and crawl over or around equipment and piping in mechanical rooms and similar locations. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety practices, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, fall protection, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
