Horace Mann Laboratory School (HMLS) is seeking teachers, support staff, and paraprofessionals to join our 21C After-School Program for the 2026-2027 school year. The program serves students in grades 3-5 across three 10-week sessions. Staff may apply to work all three sessions or select specific sessions. Program Schedule & Sessions Fall Session (11 weeks): October 5, 2026- December 18, 2026 Winter Session (10 weeks): January 11, 2027

Key Responsibilities:
Program Management & Fidelity:
Oversee daily operations, student attendance tracking, and compliance with all 21st CCLC and DESE guidelines (including staff/student SAYO surveys and grant documentation). Attend DESE training and meetings when available.Culture & Environment:
Cultivate a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment; lead daily space setup and breakdown.Routines & Logistics:
Develop and strengthen check-in, daily circle, and closing routines. Facilitate daily snack distribution, student transitions, and transportation change tracking.Academics & Showcases:
Support teachers in implementing Project-Based Learning (PBL) and enrichment, ensuring strong Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) strategies. Lead the planning and execution of end-of-session program showcases.Communication:
Serve as the primary on-site contact for school staff, parents, community partners, and district administration. Manage incident reporting, issue timesheet reminders, and produce a monthly program newsletter for families via ParentSquare. 2. Assistant Coordinator The Assistant Coordinator directly supports the Site Coordinator with daily program operations, logistics, and student management.Key Responsibilities:
Daily Logistics & Operations:
Manage physical space setup and breakdown; facilitate snack distribution and inventory tracking. Provide operational support as needed.Student Well-Being & Transitions:
Support positive student behavior and assist with immediate behavioral challenges, escalating complex issues to the Site Coordinator. Oversee smooth activity transitions and dismissal/transportation changes.Routine Execution:
Facilitate daily check-in, circle, and closing routines as designed by the Site Coordinator.Instructional & Data Support:
Assist the Site Coordinator with attendance tracking andDESE SAYO
data collection. Provide coverage and logistical assistance to classroom teachers during PBL and enrichment blocks. 3. Curriculum Coach / PBL Specialist (1-2 Openings) Focuses on aligning program academics with district standards and high-quality instructional practices.Key Responsibilities:
Align curriculum with MyView priority questions and grade-level standards to ensure coherence between the school day and after-school programming. Partner with PBL Teachers to map out 10-week units that meet High-Quality Project-Based Learning (HQPBL) requirements. 4. 21stCCLC Teachers:
PBL, Tutoring & Enrichment (3-4 Openings)Hours:
2:30 PM- 4:15 PM (2:30 PM
- 3:00 PM for prep/planning; 3:00 PM
- 4:15 PM for student instruction)
Compensation:
Contractual hourly rate for SPS teachers.Schedules & Roles:
Tutors (Mon & Tue): Small-group academic support (2:30 PM- 3:00 PM) and program support. PBL Teachers (Mon & Tue): Lead hands-on Project-Based Learning units (3:00 PM
- 4:15 PM). Enrichment Staff (Thu and/or Fri): Lead engaging enrichment activities (3:00 PM
- 4:15 PM).
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver differentiated, hands-on learning experiences aligned with district frameworks and HQPBL guidance. Build strong, supportive relationships with students while supporting positive behavior management. Maintain lesson plans for grant documentation and assist with DESE-required tracking (attendance, SAYOs). 5. Group Leaders — Support Staff (2-4 Openings)Hours:
2:00 /2:15 PM- 4:30/4:45 PM (2-4 days per week: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri)
