Overview Lead and coordinate field operations for a large, unionized landscape development and construction company based in Massachusetts. This position is responsible for managing daily construction activities, overseeing field crews and foremen, ensuring compliance with union agreements, maintaining project timelines and budgets, and supporting a culture of safety, quality, and performance excellence. The ideal candidate has a strong background in union labor management, landscape construction operations, and project coordination across multiple large-scale commercial or public-sector projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Operations Oversight:

Supervise and coordinate multiple landscape construction projects across Massachusetts, ensuring timely and efficient field operations in compliance with specifications and union agreements.

Labor & Union Management:

Work closely with union laborers, foremen, and shop stewards. Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements, resolve labor disputes proactively, and manage workforce allocations across projects.

Project Scheduling & Resource Planning:

Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment schedules to optimize productivity and control costs. Collaborate with Project Managers, Estimators, and Procurement to ensure readiness for upcoming phases.

Safety & Compliance:

Enforce OSHA safety standards and company protocols across all job sites. Conduct site audits, investigate incidents, and implement corrective measures where necessary.

Budget & Cost Control:

Monitor field-related project expenses. Identify cost-saving opportunities and minimize labor/material overages while maintaining quality.

Team Leadership:

Mentor, coach, and evaluate foremen and crew leaders. Foster a team-oriented culture that emphasizes accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Client & Subcontractor Coordination:

Serve as a liaison between field staff, subcontractors, and clients to ensure clear communication, timely updates, and issue resolution.

Pay:

From $90,000.00 per year
