The Site Superintendent is responsible for managing and supervising all day-to-day field operations for heavy civil construction projects supporting One Development and Construction's EPC renewable energy initiatives. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day operations on assigned construction sites.
- Determine methods, procedures, sequencing, and site conditions required to complete construction activities.
- Direct project activities to ensure construction and installation conform to approved plans, specifications, and scope of work.
- Maintain full understanding of project scope, intent, and contractual requirements.
- Manage budgeted performance goals across all project activities.
- Complete daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and conduct weekly toolbox talks with employees.
- Collect and review daily JHAs from subcontractors.
- Implement, enforce, and promote all company and site-specific safety guidelines.
- Support, promote, and maintain a strong company safety culture.
- Assure the safety of all employees, coworkers, subcontractors, visitors, and the public on- and off-site.
- Complete daily reporting including project status, subcontractor progress, deliveries, manpower logs, and safety observations or violations.
- Plan inspections and obtain required construction permits from local authorities.
- Ensure high-quality workmanship and compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Review subcontract agreements to understand and enforce subcontractor scope requirements.
- Maintain effective communication with the Project Manager regarding site issues requiring resolution.
- Order appropriate equipment, schedule maintenance, and ensure equipment readiness.
- Track material inventory levels and order materials as required.
- Request and obtain purchase orders prior to ordering materials or services.
- Operate heavy equipment as required, including excavators, lulls, and dump trucks.
- Support employee engagement, morale, professionalism, and teamwork on site.
- Maintain a professional work standard at all times.
- Perform additional assignments as required to meet company and project needs.
- Complete required compliance training in a timely manner
- Review Code of Conduct at least annually and promote and enforce ELM's Code of Conduct
- Promote and enforce ELM's compliance program.
- Adhere to ELM's Policy & Procedures
- Promptly, in good faith, report any instances of suspected fraud, waste, and abuse; suspected privacy and/or security incidents; or any compliance concerns identified.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Previous experience as a Construction Superintendent or in a similar role within heavy civil construction.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Experience supporting EPC projects in the renewable energy sector.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a minimum of 8+ years of experience in heavy civil construction.PREFERRED EDUCATION
Formal construction or engineering-related education.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- In-depth understanding of construction operations, sequencing, and processes.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, direct, and inspire teams.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health regulations applicable to construction job sites.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Excellent computer skills required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related applications.
- CAD drafting and construction database experience desirable.
- Strong mathematical skills required to support job-related calculations and reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to perform physical duties associated with active construction sites, including walking, climbing, standing for extended periods, and operating heavy equipment.LANGUAGES

LICENSING
MA 2A/1C
Hoisting License required.- Class A CDL preferred but not required.
