They are currently looking for an experienced Superintendent with Wet Utilities experience to join their team. Job Description The Superintendent•Wet Utilities•
DC, MD, VA
will be responsible for: Overseeing day-to-day field operations for water, sewer, storm drain, and utility infrastructure projects throughout the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region Managing project schedules and ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget Coordinating subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and internal project teams Leading field personnel, equipment operators, and labor crews to maximize productivity and quality Reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and project documents to ensure compliance with contract requirements Conducting site walks, progress meetings, and safety inspections Maintaining strong relationships with owners, municipalities, utility authorities, and project stakeholders Tracking production, manpower, equipment utilization, and project progress Identifying and resolving field issues, conflicts, and construction challenges in a timely manner Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with company safety standards, local regulations, and environmental requirements Collaborating with Project Managers to develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans Managing material deliveries, equipment allocation, and procurement needs for active projects Mentoring and developing field staff while fostering a positive team-oriented culture Preparing and submitting daily reports, project updates, and documentation Supporting the successful execution of multiple utility and heavy civil projects simultaneously across the region MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. DC, MD, VA
will have: 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent managing wet utility, underground utility, or heavy civil construction projects Proven experience overseeing water, sewer, stormwater, and wastewater infrastructure projects Strong knowledge of utility installation methods, excavation, trench safety, shoring, and site logistics Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and project plans Experience managing self-perform crews, subcontractors, equipment operators, and field personnel Demonstrated ability to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and commitment to promoting a safety-first culture Experience coordinating with municipalities, utility authorities, inspectors, and other project stakeholders Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced construction environment Proficiency with construction documentation, daily reports, scheduling, and project tracking software Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region Experience with public infrastructure, municipal utility, and design-build projects preferred Stable work history with a track record of successful project execution and team leadership Strong desire to grow within a reputable and expanding infrastructure contractor offering long-term career advancement opportunities What's on Offer The Superintendent•Wet Utilities•
